Are Paperlike Screen Protectors Worth It

I really appreciate the standard of getting 2 screen protectors. Because they are so thin. I have worked many times with stickers and applying stickers on bikes or other surfaces for work. So I think this is a challenge for people who don’t have a lot experience with applying stickers, screen protectors of other things to compare with applying the Paperlike. So the 2nd screen is a good second try. When you have the Paperlike on your screen, the touch and experience with the Apple Pencil is way better. It really feels like paper. The resistance it gives on the screen is a great addition. And to be fair the sound it makes is even more satisfying. A full experience! As a UX designer I now use my iPad as a way to sketch ideas, sketch story’s and users experiences. I use it like paper and a way to make a quick note.

Okay, so I recently bought the Paperlike 2. I have to say the product is okay for what it does but there are a few issues. Before Paperlike, I used to have a glass screen protector on my iPad so my screen quality was outstanding given the iPads so graphics and the clear glass screen protector. Although the glass screen protector makes the visuals outstanding there was only one problem which was using the apple pencils with the glass screen protector. I use notability a lot to write up notes and when using it with the Apple Pencil there seems to be less control when writing on the glass screen protector. So I started to research different screen protectors in the market. I was looking for a screen protector that would do exactly what Paperlike was trying to achieve which is a screen protector with a Paperlike feel. Having read the reviews I purchased the screen protector and applied it to my iPad. I did a fairly good job there is only a few bubbles but not too noticeable. After applying the screen protector I was impressed with the writing and the texture of the screen protector however, the screen protector is still very grainy and not as clear as I hoped. If the grainy affect was completely gone, this would be the best screen protector on the market hands down. Not the price, not going to lie it is quite steep but you do get 2 screen protectors and honestly I would have liked a third for the price I’m paying. I have tried other screen protectors but none of them compare with the Paperlike when it comes to eliminating glare while having the best surface for writing with my Apple Pencil. It’s the only screen protector I will ever buy or recommend.

Unfortunatly every (touch-)screen needs protection. With Paperlike you receive two screen protectors. Your screen will get a matte look after applying the foil. The feel is a bit gripier. While drawing with the Apple Pencil you have more precision and control. The first protector is in heavy use since one month now - by the kids aswell - and you can see scratches on the foil if you look from the side against the sunlight, but you wouldn't recognize them during normal use and different viewing-angles. I would buy it again.

You can find cheaper screen protectors but the Paperlike does stand out. The non-reflective surface stops fingerprints and kills distracting reflections. It also diffuses light pleasantly at the screen surface in a way that makes reading feel more like e-ink. This is particularly noticable for reading comics and more graphic text—completely unexpected and welcome. The writing experience isn't exactly like paper but it is more natural feeling than the uncovered screen. That touch of resistance is very welcome for drawing and writing. Now we just need a better technology for writing text in iPad OS. Maybe Scribble will be the solution we're looking for.

The PaperLike product is excellent; thus, it received a rating of 5 stars. Compared to other screen protectors—it is more pricey—however, it is the best of its kind.

I have tried many different brands of matte screen protector, but there’s nothing like Paperlike. It’s way clearer than other screen protectors and simply makes writing really feel like it’s on paper. I cannot write neatly or comfortably without Paperlike. Highly recommend.

I have these for all my cameras. The glass is so much better than the cheap plastic screen protectors. Worth it for protecting your investment.
