Are Solid State Drives Internal Or External

Love these drives. I have multiple have been using as internal and external drives. works great.

A stack of internal and external drives...Indexing and copying them is much faster with USB C than with my original USB 3. Double dock allows USB C speeds between drives. Tested...Fast, but the true teSt is whether it will be working in 8 years. Hope so.

I purchased this product to move the Windows virtual machine that I run on my MacBook Pro under VMWare Fusion off my internal storage because I was running out of space on the laptop's solid state drive. While I haven't run benchmarks, it appears it to start up and run the Windows apps as fast (or maybe only very slightly slower) than from the Macbook's internal solid state drive. It is an excellent product for this application.

If you are installing an internal Solid State Drive to your desktop computer, you'll need this SATA wire unless you are able to scavenge one off another attached device that you no longer use. It attaches to the back of the SSD (or other SATA device) and to the mother board.

Very reliable product, used other external/internal hard drives but always came back to Western Digital do to quality of the product. Had a two TG Passport, but it was filling up so went to the 5 GB passport, always go for a larger drive then you think you need without having to purchase another within 6 months

a useful tool to convert internal drives into external ones. I've personnally tried it on win 7 and win 10, it's compatible with both of them.

I'm using this as an external scratch drive for my MBP, as I'm not a fan of Apple's ridiculous prices on internal drives, but I digress. Install this into a thunderbolt housing and you're set! I average near 3GB speeds both read and write, and that works just fine for me... loving it!

I like WD products. I use many of their internal and external HDD/SSD drives. Excellent quality and price.

I use windows 8.1 quite often. On this mac, all drives (except the internal flash drive) are external. Windows runs great off Thunderbolt connected drives. You can have multiple window drives and select the one you want on boot by holding down the option key.

Fast & secure, small & not bulky like many are, it's a great size & I can take it everywhere & anywhere, fits in my laptop bag, pants pocket, purse, backpack or whatever is convenient for me.
