Got this to run the Adobe CC Suite. Put it through the ringer so far with Photoshop, Audition, Premiere, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro, and more and so far has handled all of them like a champ. One thing I didn't see that it had was the RJ55 ethernet port built into the power supply, which is a nice touch. I bought a USB-C adapter as a hub for a card reader, USB interface, external monitor, and ethernet, but it turns out I now have an extra wired network adapter if needed. Packaging was superb. The outer box was very sturdy and very discrete, and the inner box was a very sturdy and well secured box with the traditional Apple style presentation. It would take quite a drop to damage in shipping. The 4.5K screen is super sharp and very responsive. So far a great machine for photo and video design and editing.

There's a reason why Wohlers are in every edit suite, control room, or QC bay I've ever worked in-- they're brilliant, and they're bullet-proof. This model is no exception. I was really bummed that they discontinued their last multi-channel analog monitor just before I tried to buy it, but this is a game replacement with the added benefit of AES/EBU and SDI (which I'll probably never use, but at least it's there). Everything just feels right on the unit-- the knobs are all chunky and solid-feeling, and the control is intuitive. And, of course, the sound is classic Wohler "ultra-near field"-- more than loud enough, and the imaging makes it feels like you're wearing headphones when you're not. Please note, you will need DB25 breakout snakes for the analog inputs-- they're listed as a related item in this item's listing. They are simple to connect and space-saving!

When Microsoft banned computer hardware that didn't have the TPM chip and therefore would not run Windows 11, I said, That's it. Fool me once Microsoft. shame on you... What's to stop Microsoft from doing this again in the future? I began looking at alternatives and decided that running Windows 11 as a Virtual Machine (VM) inside a product called Parallels Desktop on a Mac was the way to go. I'm one who always assembled his own PC's and keeping my budget at $1000 for the box (no new monitor, keyboard, mouse, external devices) BUT, if I was going to run Windows 11 inside of my new Mac, the Mac had better be on the robust end of the spectrum. My former Macs have always had 8 to 16GB of RAM which was adequate for my usage. But since Windows 11 doesn't thrive until reaching 16GB, I decided that 32GB should be fine with this new Mac (it's perfect) Next, storage. VM's require a lot of storage space. I'm running a Windows 11 VM, Mac Sonoma (this is an additional Mac VM) and a Linux VM. My Mac now has 850GB free on a 2TB drive. Yes, get the 2TB storage! I have no storage insecurity which counts for a lot. Perhaps I'll try moving the VM's to external storage someday but I don't have resources for trying experiments now - using RAID arrays, etc. So now I have an expensive Mac (it's all relative, I know). I justify it by saying that I was going to have to buy my $1000 Windows box anyway plus I wanted the new Mac silicon. Installing Parallels Desktop and the Windows 11 VM is mostly an automated experience. Everything is fast.

I run the new Microsoft Flight Sim a lot, and since it likes RAM, I decided to double mine to 64GB. Super happy I did. My last few RAM buys were Patriot and they've always exceeded expectations.

I LOVED THIS LENS SINCE THE MOMENT I TOOK IT OUT OF THE BOX. THE CONSTRUCTION IS GREAT AS EXPECTED FROM ZEISS. NO AUTO FOCUS MAY BOTHER SOME PEOPLE BUT, IF YOU GET USED TO IT, YOU WILL END UP ENJOYING IT. SHARPNESS IS AS GOOD OR BETTER THAN ANY OTHER LENS OUT THERE IN THE MARKET. BUT WHERE THIS LENS COMES AHEAD OF ANY LENS OF THE SAME PRICE OR EVEN MORE EXPENSIVE ONES IS: IT'S UNIQUE RENDITION OF COLOR, HERE THERE IS NO EQUAL. BEAUTIFUL LENS. I HIGHLY RECOMEND IT.

There is a lot of light coming from this lamp. Any CFL will take a few minutes to get to its top power. I've used it several times and did not disappoint.

The solution to ANY screw in plate or adapter is to use a drop of threadlock. There are many vendors. The common one sells a 'BLUE which is easier to remove, and a RED which is stronger. If you disassemble cameras or electronic parts, you will see that the industry always uses a threadlock to negotiate variable tolerances between the threads male/female pitch. I use both the blue or red on all my tripod/head connectors.
