Arris Cable Modem Dead Ethernet

Had to replace my Arris Cable Modem due to latency issues. Paired with my Netgear R6400 Router works perfect. Especially with having three children using the internet at the same time and streaming Netflix. 5 |

I upgraded from an older, slower SURFboard cable modem, so just had to swap out the modem. Before doing so, I went to the Arris website and downloaded the do-it-yourself process to register the new modem with the cable company (Xfinity in my case) from my house, so no need to go to their store to give them the modem serial numbers. Worked like a charm and in ten minutes was up and running at faster speeds. 5 |

First off, let me say how skeptical I was about what the true performance of this cable modem/router 1 satellite setup would be. The reviews I read just seemed too good to be true. And my townhome has 3 levels throughout which to spread the wifi magic, a challenge for which my Arris Surfboard was just unable to meet. The further I got away from the router, the download speeds would drop drastically, making it difficult for my wife to work in the office and making me wonder why we were paying for all this promised speed. I tried plug-in extenders which improved things somewhat, but the long distances and numbers of walls/doors/stairs and other obstacles to my 5 GHz signal just seemed insurmountable. That is, until I got the Orbi! The cable modem / router is where the Arris lived previously on the first level, and the satellite is on the third level. My download speeds up there are nearly as good as they are next to the router, and better yet, I’m getting slightly in excess of the speed I’m paying for! What a game changer! It’s been stable, no dropped connections, and the app is fantastic. It saved us from having to open walls to run Ethernet around the house. I’m really satisfied, and at least in this instance, I got what I paid for! 5 |

We purchased the Netgear Orbi to replace an Arris cable modem/router because we had low WiFi signal issues in parts of our home. The Orbi was simple to install and we saw a dramatic improvement of WiFi coverage throughout our house with near maximum speeds everywhere. We connected the satellite with a hardwired connection to achieve this throughput. We were also able to assign static IP addresses to some of our network equipment (NAS’s) to allow easy access and alphabetic naming for those devices. The slightly higher price tag is justified by the performance and advanced configuration options. Great performance! 5 |

Modem does everything I wanted after dealing with a ISP rented ARRIS modem very easy for someone to set up on their own. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Connectivity is great! The 3.1 modem is on point with delivering over the 1000/35 I'm subscribed to when using an Ethernet cable every single time. Wifi is good too. The 2.4 signal covers my 1800 square foot home perfectly, even without the satellite. Adding the satellite, I can use my own wifi at my mother-in-law's house next door (believe it or not, I love her being my neighbor lol). The 5 signal doesn't reach quite as far, but it still covers the house well, and on it, I hit about 800/30 in almost all areas of my house including the back yard! Pro's that have specific VPN and/or other advanced needs, this combo will do most, but definitely do your research prior to purchase if you fall into this category! The Orbi App is SOLID. Again, nothing too advanced, but absolutely meets every expectation I'd have of any other brand's app and then some. I'd almost forgotten to mention setup; it's so easy. I connected the power and coaxial cable (not provided), connected via an Ethernet cable, Spectrum automatically detected the modem and asked me to sign into my online account (Spectrum's activation took about 10 minutes), scanned the QR code on the front of the modem using my phone's camera, setup a password, changed the wifi name and password to something I like, and that was that. It took a total of 13 minutes (including Spectrum's 10) to do it all start to finish. Overall, I'm very pleased with my purchase and experience. I'd recommend this product to anyone looking for fast, consistent, and easy internet and wifi! 5 |

What a great upgrade. I wasn't getting all the bandwidth with the old ARRIS modem so I got this and now I'm getting more speed than I'm paying for. 5 |
