I added a couple of FX 24mp bodies to my system. I was lacking a full frame 35mm. I've owned Sigma art 35mm 1.4's in the past and aside from the center super image quality I was not really that exited by the off center performance. The IMHO Nikon offerings at this focal length really don't cut it. I'd used the Tamron 35 1.8 and it was pretty good so I thought that was what I had ordered. Yes, I'm a sharp tool. So when the Tamron 35 1.4 arrived I wondered how B&H made such a mistake. when I reviewed the order it was my mistake and I am so happy! This lens is out of this world great. It may be better than my Sigma art 50mm 1.4. The only things I could find to complain about would be a little chromatic aberration in some situations and that the beautiful metal barrel is dangerously slippery. Yes it is heavy, but that comes with the territory for super excellent fast glass. This one of the very best lenses I have ever used and I've had many many. If you are remaining in the F-mount and need a fast 35mm I am sure this is the very best auto focus one that you can possibly obtain. No I don't miss the VR. 5 |

I used this without a hitch (after applying a light-mask of black art board with a hole cut out in the center for the slides to be placed--and taped at the corners to the light box with painter's tape to prevent the mask from moving around). The lightbox is perfect in every way! 5 |

While this is the only black and white film I've ever used, I do believe that it's the best 4x5 film available today. It's all we're really allowed to use at Art Center and since ... is the man, I do believe that he's correct in his film choice. If you're shooting 4x5 definitely work with this film. 5 |
