Asus 15 Inch Portable Monitor

I attached it to my new 32 inch Asus monitor.It works fast and accurate.

It was about time to update my 5-year old 15-inch laptop and was looking for PC with good computing power but with a bigger screen as sometimes I tend multitask a lot. I found this 17-inch LG laptop with the specifications I needed but was hesitant as I didn’t know how portable a 17- inch laptop would be. When I received it I realized this is way more portable than my previous machine. It is way lighter with a better screen. I immediately opened all the 15 tabs I am used to without any performance issues. Speakers are good but could be slight better. In general. I am pretty happy with my purchase. I was able to find a laptop with quite big screen and numeric keyboard without compromising on portability as the weight is perfect while traveling. I use the EIZO CG2700X for printing high resolution 13x19 inch deep sky, solar and planetary photos with a Canon Pro9000 MarkII printer. After using several different monitors in the last 20 years I have found the EIZO to be the easiest to setup, having the best written and video documentation for color management and most importantly the most accurate soft proofing from monitor screen to finished print. The built in color calibration tool is fast, easy to use and performs flawlessly. I am extremely pleased with the purchase.  Before purchasing the EIZO from B&H I had initially purchased the ASUS 31 inch OLED monitor from B&H a couple of weeks before. Long story short the ASUS monitor had a known hardware defect, according to a phone call placed to ASUS technical support. It was returned to B&H photo two weeks after purchase.   In reviewing the EIZO monitor I find that a comparison with the recently purchased ASUS monitor to be the most relevant. The LED OLED display on the ASUS monitor was definitely more eye popping than the EIZO LED monitor, which would be expected . That being said, everything else about the EIZO monitor- Color calibration, ease of setup, detailed documentation, and most importantly everything works right out of the box without any known hardware issues simply leaves the ASUS monitor in its dust in my opinion. The EIZO monitor is definitely designed for professional use in a photographic printing environment, while the ASUS monitor, once the hardware issues are fixed, is designed for looking at stunning images on the screen that can’t be duplicated on photographic paper. In fact the screen display of the ASUS monitor convinced me that my next television is definitely going to be OLED. And last but not least, thank you B&H photo for the fabulous customer service that I’ve received over the years on every single purchase.

I bought this cable to connect my MacBook Air, 15-inch, M2 2023 to an Asus PA248 Display 25.5inch (1920x1200) It works perfectly. Prior to that my old cable was causing the monitor to go on and off randomly. So no need to get a new monitor, it was just the cable that needed to be upgraded. It was easy to find on B&H website and was delivered promptly.

I wanted a case for a 15 inch production monitor and this was the smallest that did the job. Also, at a reasonable price. That said, this case works perfectly well. It’s padded, has a packet on the front for cords and the front opens up. That is better than just the top. It looks like it will last a long time.

Awesome, great, trustworthy product, the only issue with the Asus portable monitor is 3 hour battery lifespan...

I needed a compact, simple, high-quality, secondary display to sit beside my main monitor. I very much wanted a portable monitor, but not to actually carry around with me, just not an ordinary display with the clutter of power cord/stand/etc. It will mostly be sitting in one place, but the nature of my work involves frequent changes to all the hardware connected to my system, so a degree of portability is great. What I also didn't really want was the usual origami case/cover/stand that comes with most portable monitors. I think they're great, but just not right for this particular usage. Before the Lenovo I tried an Asus Zenscreen, which was pretty awesome, but had a battery (great for true portable use!) but wouldn't power-up if the battery needed charging, which is a hassle I don't need. The Asus also had an HDMI input, which the Lenovo lacks, and also built-in speakers (if I recall correctly). Again, for true portable use, the speakers are almost a must-have, so for some people the Lenovo won't fit the bill. The lack of HDMI support is a little disappointing, for sure, but even though I would have made use of it, it also wasn't a deal breaker (for me). So, yes, if all you need is the display, and your computer/device supports video over USB-C, this is a great option. Minor gripe is the straight plug and length of the supplied USB-C cable. A right-angled plug and another foot or so of length would have been much better. I had to buy a separate cable, and (as I discovered the hard way!) not many USB-C cables support the alt mode of Displayport-over-USB, and the correct cable wasn't cheap! For me, in this particular scenario, this Lenovo is pretty much perfect. For some people it may be a little too basic, so for those people I'd say try the Asus.

The Asus ZenScreen MB16AC is a light, portable, easy to use monitor that has changed the way I work for the better. The screen is easy to use and does not require an additional power source. You connect it to your computer via a USB-C cord, download a driver and it is ready to go. I use a MacBook Pro and it works seamlessly. I love the monitor. Don't know how I have worked all these years without one.

This ASUS portable monitor works great. Easy to setup. Its a perfect solution for going between home & office where there isn't a dual monitor solution needed for looking at different documents and workbooks.
