Asus 802.11 N Wifi Dual Band Range Extender

Bought this for new PC build, to connect to dual band Orbi mesh system. Installed easily. Came with driver update CD for both wifi and bluetooth. After installation, wifi works great and BT shows up, but haven't connected anything with it yet. I see no TP-Link programs or settings, so evidently it seamlessly provides signals to CPU. Would recommend!

The Netgear WiFi Mesh Range Extender EX6250 was very easy to install and it did exactly what I needed it to do; extend the coverage of my Spectrum Router.

This extender does a great job of extending and boosting my wifi signal. I was surprised how wide its range is. I am very pleased with this purchase--great performance, great value.

The extender setup was a breeze. It connected easily to my home network. It has extended the range of the WiFi significantly to the other end of the house. This sure beats the cheap knock-off I bought, which never was able to connect properly.

The Asus Zen WiFi Pro ET12 offers the best range and speed you can find on the market these days. I have 2gbps service from my ISP and with a WiFi connection to my Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra I get speeds of 1200-1500mbps when I am close to one of the devices. Wired speeds over ethernet I get 2400-2500. I like that it has two 2.5gbps ports so I can connect 1 to my desktop and use the other as a wired backhaul connection to the other unit. The range is also phenomenal. I get strong service throughout my 2600 square foot home but also on the back deck, to outside cameras, in the back yard, and I even got a good signal across the cul-de-sac in my neighbor's driveway! The number of walls and the type of material they are made (brick, etc.) of do impact the performance but the ET12 powers through better than any other router or mesh system I have used. With the original firmware they had 2 separate SSIDs: one for 6ghz and the other for 5 and 2.4ghz. I was happy that with a firmware update they combined everything into a single SSID (although you can still split them in the settings if you prefer) and it chooses the best connection type. One side-note, if you, like me, are venturing into multi-gig speeds for the first time, be aware that a lot of hardware has a 1gbps speed limit. For me I needed a new fiber gateway from my ISP, all CAT 6 network cables (not CAT 5E or 5), a Zyxel 8-port 2.5gbps switch, and an Asus 10gbps network card for my desktop computer. The ethernet cable that comes with the ET12 is unfortunately CAT 5E which tops out at 1gbps.

This was a two birds with one stone proposition for me. I now have much better Wifi signal than previous adapter which was only 802.11bgn, and much better Bluetooth experience than with previous 4.0 adapter. If you have speaker disconnect issues after installing, go to Device Manager and find your Bluetooth device that has a Power Management setting under Properties. Uncheck the box that allows the computer to turn off the device to save power. The antenna could be heavier or have embedded magnets but it works very well and the cord is long enough. I feel that my purchase was well worth the cost and functional improvement.

I have used routers from Netgear, Linksys, and others for years. They all seem to die after a year or so. The newer ones with more CPU usually overheat, become unreliable, and have not had predictable throughput. Eventually I buy a new router. I do not mind the upgrade, but the high-speed routers from other brands typically are twice the price. This router so far has given repeatable performance. The old router often reached 74Mbps but dipped and slowed (802.11ac PC). The Archer A73X transfers at a steady 80MB/s or more, no dips. I upgraded my other PC with a TP-Link WiFi 6E AX5400 PCIe WiFi Card (Archer TXE75E) to take advantage of 802.11ax. Although predicted for higher speeds it does reach 110MB/s reliably in my system. The only thing I find is the wireless coverage is better and worse depending upon device. I have an older tablet that is not as fond of the Archer A73X and drops connection. As mentioned, the two main PCs above are stable and reliable. Hope it doesn't die like the others. A month in, so far, so good.
