I have total of 3 Asus routers and none of them disappoint. Some of them run Merlin firmware but this AX57 just runs stock firmware. It is basically as almost plug and play as it could be. Setup starts with a wizard and you can later adjust other settings. The router has tons of features including parental controls, mesh capabilities, DDNS and VPN (server and client). Range is excellent. This one is installed in a warehouse that's 140 feet long. I have great signal end to end even thru a cinder block wall. For the money, I think it is a very good buy. 5 |

My 6th Asus router over about 15 years. I've had other brands, but I always come back to Asus and this time I'm not leaving. I am a veteran in the IT business, over 26 years, so I know routers and I can say that the key thing that separates Asus routers from all others is the firmware. Drawing from opensource community experts that have a passion for maximizing functionality, security, and performance while also adding Asus' exclusive features like AIMesh, Guest Network Pro, and kid's wifi for a novel approach to parental control. Oh, yeah, and superb network performance and advanced control if you need it. The Asus approach to online safety for children by creating a "network" exclusively for each child is genius! My son connects his devices to HIS OWN wifi network which is managed separately from his sister's wifi network... simply a genius approach to online safety and parental control for the multiple devices that children have these days. Plus it makes them feel special because they have their own wifi! Nearly every update from Asus has a feature enhancement or a new feature. These routers feel future proof. Every time I get a little board (because IT is my passion and I like new and shinny features to play with), Asus drops a new firmware with a new feature and my interest is renewed. Any company can make hardware, the hard part is the firmware and I have yet to use a router from another brand that even comes close to the Asus router firmware, both for feature set as well as performance. And the AIMesh....no other brand has anything close! 5 |

Using an Asus ux501vw laptop, Windows 10, latest drivers and firmware. Works great! Write speed (Raid 0) 350MB/sec. Moved 1TB without any problems. 5 |

Works as it should so far, 1st one was returned because of bad WAN ports, hoping ASUS provides more firmware upgrades last one was 5/24 I am using an AXE16000 for my AI mesh for total house connection. 5 |

I bought this because I wanted a fully configurable AP that lets me select the channel, has 4x4 MIMO, and is hopefully more reliable than the overpriced Asus and Netgear options, because Im sick of buying routers to convert them to AP mode only to have to keep loading flakey firmware after flakey firmware. That and Im tired of trying to build hostapd systems when the cards out there just dont support the features to compete anymore. So far the performance is what I expected from the nanoHD since I didnt want to go to the Pro. Signal is decent in my 1080sq ft apartment but slightly weaker than my Asus rt66u on auto. If I force the power to high seems the same. When we get a house Ill buy more for coverage as needed. Im very happy with the results since I cant afford Aruba like I manage at work. 5 |
