Atlantis Underwater Camera System Ics 552

As an engineer, I have to admire everything about this product from the hardware design to the firmware that drives it, and the user interface software. I have this in a home system, and with the recommended microphone, have flattened my system's response. The only missing feature I would have included, had I designed this unit, would be a tool to time-align the speaker drivers. I popped the top to check out the ICs the designers used, and was pleasantly surprised to see several ICs mounted on the 45 - I've never seen that before. I might have picked lower-noise op-amps too.

For any sync recording from camera to the Sound Devices 552, this is the best cable, and most reasonably priced time code cable I have seen for the Sound Devices 552 mixer/recorder. This cable connects to a BNC cable from the camera via a BNC barrel connector (also needed unless you have a BNC male to female type cable). The price is hard to beat, and you will need this and a most likely a barrel connector, & BNC cable to get time code from the camera. With Mp3 recording, and other external or backup recording now commonly used, having a time code synced recording capability as a sound mixer/sound recordist is a must. A previous set of these batteries lasted several years, recharging them hundreds of times, saving money and reducing electronics waste. While 9V power supplies are abundant, a stable 9V battery source is often the best since not all 9 V power supplies are of the same quality in terms of noise and stability.
