AI Auto Tracking is outstanding! Almost looks like a human is controlling the camera! This PTZ is packed with features! Auto focus, 256 presets, manual exposure control, NDI capable, HDMI, SDI, RS232, Ethernet, USB-C to name a few! Tested indoor and outdoor with great results! Very happy with my purchase! 5 |

Nikon AI-S lenses are usually built really well, and the smooth manual focus ring is always pleasant to use. The focusing helicoid on this lens seems to have been dialled to have a much firmer response, which is perfect for the precise focusing required for macro work. Much better than the ratchety quality of the focus rings found on modern M/A lenses. To each their own, but I am not a professional photographer and I do not need the convenience of auto-focus. I find manually focusing to be an enjoyable part of the photographic process. The camera(s) on my phone are more than good enough when I just need a quick convenient shot of something. As a bonus, I also do not have to contend with the off-putting high pitched whines of auto-focus motors, especially in quieter settings. It's also one less thing to worry about when it comes to maintenance or equipment lifespan. Get these lenses new while you still can! 5 |

This camera's AI servo auto focus has received a lot of bad reviews in the past. I have a serial number 57XXXX and it works. I use all focus modes and all of the hardware and software fixes must have made a difference. The many features that have been improved from the Mark II are really impressive. The IQ is terrific, the micro adjust for lens really works (it was a challenge for me to get set up - two tries, about a full day). The camera is fast, fast ,fast in everyway. The battery is so good I seldom need to change it for a shoot - even with image stab. and lots of chimping. I have shot just about everything product, architecture, PJ, sports, landscape, wedding, and studio. This camera does it all and just keeps going. High ISO is very good and highlight priority works. I haven't shot much with live view so can't really comment on that. LCD could be better. 5 |

Nikon AI-S lenses are usually built really well, and the smooth manual focus ring is always pleasant to use. This 20mm f/2.8 lens is no different, especially for its small size. I have been shooting Canon for 30 years. I am surprised to read about some issues users are having with the auto-focus. I have not had this problem. I did recognize in the continuous AI Servo AF mode, the lens tends to search a bit more and has trouble locking. This could be interpreted by some as a failure of the auto-focus system. One Shot or AI Focus works much better and locking on a wildlife target at 300 yards is very functional. At the same time, you really need enough light/ISO to get the shutter speed up to 3000 to 6400 fps when shooting birds in flight. In addition, I use the lens on an APS-C sensor when I need the additional reach. This is a much better combination than trying to use a teleconverter. 90% of the time, I am using the lens on a sturdy tripod and gimbal. I have experimented shooting hand-held and the IS works well enough at all focal lengths. Sample photos from a shoot this weekend are attached. Overall, the lens is a great value for the reach. 5 |

The AI-1 integrated with my Mac set up seamlessly. Unlike some older devices (such as the FastTrack Pro I upgraded from), the AI-1 can be control with the Mac OS X audio controls on your keyboard. The headphone amplifier works really well and the mic/quarter inch input delivers really high quality sound for home music recordings (using Logic Pro), podcast recordings and more recently Zoom calls. I don't like desk clutter and this device is about the size of an Apple TV and connects through one cable which I run through my external monitor. One issue that the upgrade to Mac OS X Catalina fixed was that I would have to unplug and plug back in the audio interface, so my computer didn't automatically use my external monitor's audio. However, that is no longer an issue. Another small issue, that seemed to be fixed with the upgrade to Catalina, was that I would hear a very faint radio signal in my headphones, but it didn't impact my recordings at all. Finally, I have this AI-1 connected to a pair of JBL monitor speakers through the balanced line outs on the back of the unit. The audio output is incredible. If you're looking for a minimalist, high-quality USB audio interface, the AI-1 is an excellent choice. 5 |
