I use this with an Iogear 2 port usb automatic printer switch. I have 2 of these 6 inch cables that go out of the printer switch, one goes to a 7 port USB hub for a Mac Pro & the other to a 4 port usb hub for a Windows PC. I only needed short cables so they work perfect for me. 5 |

This switch can be configured as manual or automatic. Appropriately plugging in the cables would give you a manual installation completed. A pair of lights on the switch indicates which computer is connected. Of course this configuration is solid and very reliable. Then when have some time to play with the computers,one can install the software on both computer to make switch to connect the printers automatically. 5 |

Using this to decode an NDI source to a projector in Church services with live stream. We previously were sending the Presentation Laptops screen to the OBS computer via NDI, and used a separate proprietary wireless video feed to the main projector. Got this so we can use the same NDI source for both and eliminate the wireless projector feed. It is working well. One thing to be aware of: the projector will display will go blank in a couple of seconds if there is no video and audio activity when using NDI Screen Capture as the source. This can be an issue during power points with static screens. You can set the decoder to keep the last thing displayed on the screen or allow it to go blank. I prefer it to go blank so I know something is wrong right away. You can also resolve by making sure the NDI Screen Capture is using an active audio source (like the microphone). This decoder has been reliable and is reasonably priced. Perhaps other decoders won't have the inactivity issue but they are also more expensive. This has not been a show stopper for us. 5 |
