I have a Handycam DV tape camera, and for years I have tried periodically to transfer tapes to my computer. I'm fairly adept at solving these kinds of problems, but I guess I had lost the similar cable that came with the camera (if one was included). I tried to use the iLink but it wouldn't work with my Mac. In fact, way I finally was able to transfer from my camera to the Mac was to go from camera to VHS player with this tape, and then from the VHS player to the computer with the Roxio VHS to DVD (for Mac) cable/software. There may be a better way, but now I finally have a solution! 5 |

I had been looking for a converter to copy and edit old VHS tapes to DVD. Originally looked for a combination player recorder but most manufacturers no longer make those. Found this on line but wanted to speak with a sales person and was happy to do so at B&H. Have been using it for a few weeks an so far it works flawlessly! Software is simple to install and allows you to easily import tapes to the computer. I save all (Mac OS) into iMovie. So far I am extremely pleased and have recommended it to friends. My component DVD recorder/player has S-VHS and component out (no HDMI). To feed my editing system and component monitor I needed a converter that did the conversion. Easy to install, worked perfectly right out of the box. Just what I needed. Highly recommended. 5 |
