Essential and very useful. Professional interview kits should always contain this OMNI microphone or one very similar to it. If you get in the habit of using an OMNIDIRECTIONAL mic for handheld interviews, you will eventually realize that many, many interviews are saved from the awful off-mic level dropout that very often occurs wirh any handheld cardiod or unidirectional style mic.

This windscreen seems big when you first get it but it fits snugly over the microphone. I use these on my Shure PG58 wireless handheld and SM58 microphones. I have these in different colors so I can easily identify which microphone I'm adjusting through the mixer. There is no loss of audio with the windscreen in place.

I'm willing to bet it will work with most (if not all) of the cheaper knock-off wireless mic systems you see on the web too. I'm very impressed and happy with this handheld adapter. It's build quality is fantastic, it looks great and it works perfectly. It's a great addition to my audio kit and will go with me on every shoot. I use this is a school setting - cafeteria, professional development sessions, etc. The handheld wireless mic is awesome - clear, great sound, volume level never an issue. The Bluetooth has come in handy on many occasions for connecting laptops and smartphones. I bought stands to go along with this set - totally worth it and truly completes the set.
