First off I love photography. I spend my weekends filling up my memory cards. I am also on a budget. This lens is amazing. Its inexpensive (NOT cheap) feels good and is amazing. Crisp focus (the 'sweet spot' seems to be around f/2-2.8 although it produces good photos at f/1.8) and focuses relatively fast. A suggestion for anyone who is losing focus with this lens or is noticing a delay when focusing before each shot. Use the button on the back of your Nikon to focus (BBF or Back Button Focus. Search Back Button Focus in Google to learn more). That way it doesn't try to refocus before each shot. Learn how to properly use the lens. Aperture priority is great but don't just shoot wide open. Experiment. Learn. This lens is a must have for every family and photographer. Within the first day of shooting you'll notice how much the photos resemble professional photos (some skill required). Solid, quality equipment. Back-lit which is a huge plus for me. For the price, it'd be hard to beat this remote switch.
