Fits into my small backpack and was put to use immediate for family photos indoors and outdoors. I was worried that the legs aren't long enough to be used outdoors, but it's always very easy to find some place slightly elevated to set this up, so the weight savings end up being great without any sacrifice on function. My DSLR weighs around 2.5 lbs and the tripod holds it stable with no problem, The quality of this tripod is night and day compared to my first one with wobbly legs that costs $15. This is a great backpack for someone who is looking to take their camera gear while hiking outdoors. The ability to carry a camelback was a key feature for and this backpack hit that need.
