This is the best camera backpack, let alone just backpack ever

As a former news photographer, I know if you don't have it with you, you can't use it. So right after the camera,tripod,camera batteries, stick mic., Lav mic.,cables,spare tapes,batteries,wireless mic transmitter Leather-man, Gaffers tape,Skittles,pens,paper,labels,PDA,& flashlight. The next thing you need is a bag to put them in.When I saw the price of the PB-3 I was kinda shocked, I think I paid $100 for my last Porta Brace bag about 10 years ago. so I begrudgingly paid $ for this new one. ... I looked it over & found it was nothing like my old bag. The Zippers are heavier duty, The design looks the same but inside there are customized pockets for all your stuff, I was looking for an instruction sheet explaining all the pockets. there is even a LED light strip in the pocket for finding things at night & it flips out like a safety flasher, so you can be seen at night.or at least know that whoever ran you over meant to. so in closing... The belt pack is FANTASTIC! the only thing I can think of, that I would change or modify is the fact that the equipment pouches are not locked into position on the belt. Still, I am very happy with my purchase.

I use the BlackRapid Backpack Breathe Camera Strap with a Lowepro ProTactic Backpack. One side of the strap connects perfectly to the rings located on the front of the backpack's shoulder straps and the other side connects onto a loop on the bottom of the pack on the other side. The BlackRapid backpack strap allows me to have quick access to my camera. With the camera on the BlackRapid strap, I no longer need to bring my backpack to my side to remove and use my camera. I now use my backpack only to store and change lenses. My camera can now remain outside my backpack, located conveniently to my side at hip level. When I want to shoot, the camera slides smoothly up the camera strap to eye level. I like that the camera hangs upside-down when resting on the strap. It makes for an easy get to position when my camera is resting at my side. This strap is amazingly slick and fun to use. I have to admit that I find myself playing around with it, like I'm some sort of gunslinger, showing off how quick I can be on the draw. I appreciate the movable clips provided on the BlackRapid camera strap. The two clips are easily adjusted, allowing me to restrict the movement of the camera to stay in one place on the strap when I am planning not to shoot. All of the attachment parts seem well made and designed. I keep the bottom strap strapped to the bottom of my backpack and store the rest of the strap in a small pocket on my backpack when I am not using the strap. Then, all I have to do is remove the strap from the small backpack pocket and connect the free end to the opposite shoulder strap . . . and I'm ready to go! I wish the piece that that screws into the camera (Camera Socket Attachment) was designed so that the camera could sit flat when attached, and if the design of the socket attachment would permit a tripod or mono-pod to be screwed into it without having to unscrew it from the camera. I absolutely love the BlackRapid Backpack Breathe Camera Strap!

I've been a professional photographer for 34 years. I'm a full-time photojournalist for a small newspaper and own a photography business. I shoot news, sports, weddings, portraits, and commercial. I shoot basically whatever I'm hired to shoot. Up until now I used different cameras for different jobs. The newspaper purchased me the original 1D. Once that technology passed I've been shooting with prosumers. I've owned the 20D, 30D, 5D classic and 7D. I still use the 6d, 5DMark3, and 7dMk2. I decided to take the plunge and drop the coin for the best Canon DLSR, I'm not getting any younger! I'm not an impulse buyer. I studied and read about this camera for months before I decided to buy(after getting the blessing from my wife!) I've only owned it for 1o days and have shot one Friday night of high school football as well as general news assignments and some portraits of my granddaughters. The camera has lived up to and exceeded my expectations so far. One of my favorite features is the Smart Controller on the rear of the body with touch-sensitive button for choosing AF points. It makes it very easy to move the focus point. I was very pleased with the high ISO performance, I shot a high school football at 25,600 and it looked very good. I knew it was a great focusing camera but I didn't know it was this good. I had a play where a quarterback scrambled and headed my way and I blew off several frames during the play and every single one was tack sharp. I still haven't gone through and fine tuned everything to my specifications but will soon. It's definitely a behemoth but I knew that going in. The weight is really not that big of an issue for me. The ergonomics make up for the excessive weight, it's really sculpted for the hand. I'm really glad i made the plunge and am thankful to have an understanding wife.

Use with fifth graders to create a weekly news broadcast. Easy to connect to camera and limits background sounds. Students recorded in front of an aquarium with a chiller running. No background noise on the video.
