Not sure how or where I lost the original, but very very glad I got the replacement. Really takes a load of and makes for Backpacking travel so much easier and more comfortable.

I bought this lens as THE single lens that I would travel with on multi-day backpacking trips to do both day and night landscape / astrophotography. It has been great for both and would highly recommend it for anyone trying to have a great wide angle, fast lens, but minimize weight. It is super sharp, corner to corner at f/8, which is where I normally shoot day landscapes. I have also sucessfully used this on the PilotFly H2 gimbal - very easy to balance.

I use this mainly as a travel and backpacking tripod and this is a fantastic tripod. The build quality is great, the ball head is sturdy and it is easy to use. I would highly recommend this tripod and I would buy it again.

i use this camera all the time when I travel around (especially backpacking). It's light and has awesome results. For video its really good. The track focus helps a lot, and the HD looks very sharp.

First and foremost I would not use this as a travel/backpacking tripod, but that's a good thing. The 700DX's size and weight make for a sturdy tripod with plenty of height for taller photographers. I do a lot of long exposure/night photography outdoors and the weight of the 700DX really helps keep the camera steady in the wind. I really can't complain about this product given it's price point.

I bought the Ascend to use as a travel tripod when I need to carry it on an airplane and/or on a backcountry backpacking trip. It is the most rigid travel tripod that I have experienced. The long version is tall enough for me to use without having to stoop down and the legs are standard RRS quality construction without any limitations. I have just started to use the tripod and need to really see how the integrated ball head works. On first glance it seems very capable for the size and weight, but use in the field will test the point.
