Backpacking Asia With Camera Gear

I purchased this tripod for an upcoming backpacking trip to SE Asia. I wanted something light and durable that didn't take up a bunch of room. This thing seems to tick all the boxes! Feels durable and stable, while at the same time light as a feather. The detachable monopod is a game changer for me when I'm filming and for steady shots doing street photography. The twist style locks on the legs seem like the could be a hair better, but no real complaints! Definitely give this tripod a try if you're looking for an awesome travel tripod and don't want to spend $300-$600 for the other guys!

I bought this for a long backpacking trip for my camera gear. It is a little heavier than other bags, not much but I am trying to go ultralight. But, for short trips, outings where there is water no question this is an excellent choice!

As the title suggests, this is the backpack I’ve been waiting for. It is exactly what I’ve been looking for, for backpacking multiple days in the backcountry with my camera. The camera cube it comes with holds my Z7ii, 14-24 2.8, 24-120 f4 and 70-200 2.8. That said, when doing a lot of miles in a day, I usually only bring the 14-24 and 24-120. This is definitely a niche pack in that it is for backpacking with camera gear. It shouldn’t be confused with a hiking or “outdoor” camera backpack where the focus is being able to carry just camera gear and then some odds and ends. This bag can hold your sleeping back, tent, tripod and whatever else you made need. Material feels substantial and the straps and harness feel great. Highly recommend.

I picked one of these up a month ago. I have since travelled to Asia on a photography tour. This allowed me to carry a Fuji mirrorless along with a spare lens, plus spare battery and a couple of cables. It give me quick access to my gear, and a secure way to carry it. Especially helpful when travelling by plane and public transport, and for discreetly carrying gear when exploring unfamiliar streets. It’s just the right size, comfortable and very quick to adjust and open. I used it sling style, sometimes front or back, but will be trying it on the belt too. I’ve tried 3 other products like this over the years from other brands and this is superior in so many ways. Looks great too!

This has become my favorite hiking and backpacking ballhead.  The lightest and most functional one I have ever used.  RRS makes incredibly durable and well-engineered gear, and this is no exception.  Most of my RRS gear is built for durability, but not designed to be lightweight.  The BPC-16 is that rare confluence of RRS-toughness and engineered perfection, coupled with a form factor that enables me to easily carry it on week long trips in the mountains.  The dual function knurled knob that clamps and allows panning is very clever and easy to use.  I highly recommend this to those that need something of this weight and function.  I am using with an A7Riii.

Great cases to protect gear from the weather when backpacking or hiking. Don't have to worry about anything getting wet or damaged in the back-country, since these cases are crushproof and water resistant. Excellent cases!

I had been using SanDisk cards for my digital camera, but on a friend's recommendation, I decided to try the Lexar SD card. I must say, I was very impressed with the card's fast data transfer capabilities. It allowed me to continue to capture the images without slowing down my camera's continuous shooting speed after shooting a lot of videos and photos during a recent family trip to Asia. Also, I was equally impressed with the card's durability in Asia's 90 degrees hot and humid sticky weather. Lastly, after I got back from my trip, it was very easy and super fast to transfer all the images and the video files to my PC and another backup device. I was pleasantly surprised that this card has proven to be very durable and reliable for what I use it for. It is a good quality SD card and I highly recommend it!
