Backpacking Camera Case

The case is enough protection that I am confident with bringing my camera along on a 3 day backpacking adventure. I figured out a way to suspend the camera below my chest strap of my pack and the case removes rather quickly. I find it slightly cumbersome to put back on; however the tether to the tripod mount is a great feature. I need to attach my lens cap to it somehow as well.

I purchased this case to hold my 5D mkII and a single lens while backpacking. This small case goes in the bottom of my large backpack and I don't have to worry about it.

I needed a small case to protect my Globalstar SAT phone for a backpacking trip. It's the perfect size for the phone and USB charger. You have to buy the Pelican 1042 Foam insert for full protection. It's water resistant and very impact resistant. I'm not worried about water because I have a water resistant backpack with a rainfly so any water that gets through the pack will be protected by the case. The lid seals tight and it's easy to open and close. I'm very happy with it.

I bought this, along with the iPhone case, to take videos while backpacking. As I have come to expect, there is an extra level of thoughtfulness built into Peak Design products. My iPhone 14 Pro attaches easily and quickly to the device, and I was able to take POV video of the trails I was hiking on in the Grand Canyon. Most important, I was able to get great video of my multi-decade hiking buddy, who was hitting the trails after double knee replacement. Oh, and he's 86 years old.

I use this case to protect my second lens when on multiple day backpacking trips. Well padded. I have no reservations in putting in my backpack.

I bought this case to more securely protect my Swarovski Companion CL binoculars when I am bikepacking and backpacking. My binoculars fit securely inside (with strap attached) and the semi-rigid case provides protection when the binoculars are riding in a pack. I found the price reasonable as well. Very pleased with my purchase.

I bought this for a backpacking trip because my capture clip really drags on my shoulder over longer hikes. My camera was balanced and accessible from my chest strap (fits on the chest strap of a backpacking pack and the waist strap of a day pack). The carabiners are a little too small to get on/off the strap easily, but that may be intentional because if you absent-mindedly unclip your pack, the pod cannot pass over the plastic clip meaning your camera can't slide off onto the ground. It didn't get wet but I had it at camp for days with some desiccant packets inside and never had humidity issues. The large just fits my Nikon Z6 and 24-200mm lens *with* the lens hood on. I also had a hand strap attached which made the camera easy to grab and pull out of the bag. It's also great for when you need to put your camera into your pack - it's lightly padded and I'm hopeful the water resistance is legit because I've had hydration bladders leak on multiple occasions. It's well thought out and multifunctional, I'm pleased with it.
