Backup Sd Card Vs External Hard Disk

I just added the WD 4TB Elements External Desktop Hard Disk Drive to my� back up solution (6 hard drives) and Windows 10.� I disconnected the power and USB cable from a full WD hard drive and replaced it with this new drive and fired it up. It works great, just like I would expect from Western Digital.

I use my SD cards as backup for my CFExpress card. So far, so good.

This is my favorite external disk now!

I'm using this card as a backup disk for Time Machine on macOS Catalina, works great!

I cannot speak to disk speed because I use it only for external backup in a drive sled. I have 3 external mirrors which I keep offline except when mirroring. This is due to having lost 2 external backups within 4 days of each other so now I have 3 and stagger when they are online.

I have been using these drives in my external disk arrays with RAID1 software driven backup. They are awesome for media servers and over the years I have had only 1WD drive failure. I went to WD after having 4 Seagate drives fail in a row. BH always provides great pricing.

We had this computer now for a few weeks and still getting used to it. The SD-drive makes it nice and fast. I have added a hard disk for extra space in the meantime. Looking forward to adding my photo collection and my kids to setting up minecraft etc. We have used apple in the longest time and are very disappointed with our last choice that has very little RAM, is therefore extra slow and has no option whatsoever on upgrading. So this computer gives us all those options and we can add and upgrade to our likings.

I like this as a backup disk that I can carry in my purse.

This 1TB Western Digital portable hard disk drive was obtained for the purpose of providing system-wide data backup for an Apple iMac. It served the purpose perfectly. After after a very quick delivery of the product it was simply a matter of plugging it into the iMac (with the included USB cable). The OS X software immediately recognized the device and, after asking if it was appropriate, configured and started the backup software to use it. It was plug 'n play in action.
