This is a solid hard drive. I wanted a good 2TB hard drive to use as a backup drive in my Windows 7 home computer. Using hard drives larger than 2TB is painful with Window 7. So, I wanted to get as much storage as I could. B&H had a GREAT price on this drive. 5 |

I used this to back up my old desktop computer. It was easy to install, and I performed the backup using Windows Backup manager. It's compact, lightweight, and easy to use. I haven't had to access the backup yet, but I took a look at the files and it seems to have been a success. I'm glad to have the peace of mind. 5 |

I'm using it to backup data files. I plugged it into a USB 2.0 port on my Windows Vista computer, and the computer recognized it immediately. It's fast and quiet. No complaints at all. Didn't use,need, or want the WD software. The price was definitely right. 5 |

This drive, using automated backup software, is used to backup photographs. The only issue encountered is that the drive comes formatted for Windows. Wasnt noticeable until I tried to give the drive a real name and got the Windows, cant have ..... So if you dont use Windows, the drive needs to be reformatted with disk utility on Mac. 5 |
