Baja Edge Of Control Video Game

I bought this one elsewhere, because of a promotion (sorry, B&H), and I could not be happier with it. Edge to edge sharpness is near perfect. It's a very substantial piece of kit, as well. The amount of light it lets in seems impossible. It's also the fastest focusing lens I've encountered. It's a perfect fit for aerial video (my main purpose), but will fit into other niches well, IMO. Yes, it's expensive. It costs more than the body I'm using it with. But if you're going to do 4K video, you need something with this amount of sharpness, if you want to impress yourself, and others. I used it for edge lighting on dramatic portraits. The grid is on backorder. I know I will like the extra control when I ge that.

I love strip softboxes and the control they offer. In my work, I use strips constantly for edge and rim lighting, and in conjunction with other strips for virtually shadowless headshot and beauty lighting. Install the grid and this narrow strip can be used to precisely place a highlight.

While this softbox does have the recessed edge, this grid helps to control your light even more. It attaches by the velcro around the outside and it comes with a little bag to put it in (although it is somewhat a snug fit).

Every camera and lens manufacturer has quality control issues to some extent. Nikon definitely has more than most of the most of the other ones. The first copy I had was not what I expected, having problem with one side of the image being sharp while the other side was out of focus and the out of focus side shifted from the left at 16mm to the right at 80mm. I wanted this lens so bad I took the chance and get another one which I am writing this review about and this one is excellent. It is very well built, nice attention to details even with the lens hood as it clicks into position and will not accidentally comes off. This lens is tack sharp even wide open from edge to edge evenly at every focal lengths so I am very pleased with the lens and it definitely deserves the 5 star rating. However having so much difference from copy to copy is certainly very discouraging and Nikon should improve the quality control.
