Banana Pi R1 Smart Open Source Wireless Router

I put Gargoyle open source router software on it. It can do so much now. It's a snappy router.

I got this to replace all of our wireless needs. I disabled wireless on our router and use this AP as our only source of wifi. The software is so amazing. We get better range and speeds in our home. Going to get the Ubiquiti USG and switch later.

I use the wireless speedlight commander with my new Nikon R1 WIRELESS CLOSE-UP SPEEDLIGHT SYSTEM and am just getting used to it but I do love it - going to practice some more today.

I was having issues with my smart devices and streaming HDTV. My wireless system was only giving me about 100 Mbps even though my cable internet was 800 Mbps. I looked into buying faster internet and discovered if I I wanted the cable company’s top speed of 1.2 Gbps, I needed a new modem. I purchased the latest and greatest cable modem, which was one model newer and capable of 2.5 Gbps. My internet speed didn’t get better. So, I decided to replace my wireless router. I researched the wireless routers available. The three key areas I concentrated on were the WAN connection speed, coverage and wireless specifications included. The ASUS ZenWiFi Pro ET12 was the best in all three categories and the only router I found that had all three top of the line specifications. WAN - 2.5 Gbps Wireless - WiFi 6E Home Coverage - One router and one node replaced one router and five nodes. My coverage is better with less nodes. All my smart devices and my streaming HDTV are working great and I’m getting 950 Mbps internet speed. Smartest upgrade I’ve made.

Being new to flash photography, I was concerned how easy it will be to use and how I could use it. The R1 system made everything a breeze that's both versatile and fun to use. First off, Nikon provides you will everything to start off with, including a diffuser, stands, ring adapters, and color gels. The wireless flash units were incredibly simple and straight forward and, since its wireless, one can arrange them in almost any position to experiment with the light. New to flash photography? This will help you become pro in no time.

I purchased the R1 wireless flash for taking extreme macro shots, mostly of insects. Because the flash set-up is small (especially without wires and the commander unit) it is easy to bring into the field. Some downsides of using the double flash is that it can cause weird double shadows. One solution is to diffuse the flash. I don't use the diffusers in the kit (which don't alleviate this problem), but I use a sheet of tracing paper hung over the lens. Another option is to aim the flash at a white background and bounce it onto the subject. Overall, it is a useful system, and easy to use.

The Nikon 4804 R1 Wireless Close-Up Speedlight System works brilliantly with my new Nikon D7500. It arrives in a huge box but the small flash units are great.

I'm using this is a cabinet that contains a router, NAS, and raspberry pi. Those devices are plugged into the battery backup side. The surge only outlets are being used for a variety of usb chargers (phones, tablets, etc). I was able to get everything plugged in, but I do wish the outlets were spaced just a little farther apart given the size of some transformers. It's definitely a hefty unit. Overall, I'm very happy with it.

Excellent router that covers my whole home and all my wireless products.
