Band Instruments Silhouettes Flute

One of the best (some would say the best...) microphone in the business, particularly for vocals and lower sound level instruments (acoustic guitar, flute, etc...). Extremely sensitive, very low noise. Picks up the tiniest detail. The switchable polar pattern, integrated low cut filter and 10 dB attenuation pad means you can use them for anything in any situation, couple of switches and you are done. Just did a simultaneous recording with my Schoeps on a flute and these sounded even better, if that was at all possible. More velvet and refinment in the mid tones. You could immediately tell why they are unsurpassed on voice. If you can afford it and don't mind how large they are, this is the quintessential studio mic you need in your arsenal.

I have used several different mics to mic a flute in a loud band and the leakage from the drums usually competes with the flute. With the i2, that is over for me. Our flute player was a few feet from the drum kit and was barely picking up drums. The caridod is the way to go. The tonal quality is outstanding. It comes with a cork lined clip but it still picks up the valve noise in between songs if your musician is fiddling with them. It is very noticeable. While playing, I had no problem getting plenty of gain out of the flute. Used with ULXD1 beltpack. I am very happy with this mic.

This portable all in one background, diffusion and reflector is limited only by your creativity. I recently shot a leko through the diffusion to achieve silhouettes as pictured. I've also used the silver and gold reflectors with party decorations to create flashy backgrounds. My only gripe is I wish they made a 5 by 7 ft version.

I'm delighted with the quality of these photo folders which so beautifully protect and display the custom silhouettes for my small business. The material is thick and slightly textured which gives a professional feel, and I like that the tabs for holding the product are small enough that the corners won't be damaged of my customers remove the silhouetted to frame them. I will definitely be a repeat buyer!

I've already used the green background for basketball portraits. We're cutting them out for placement on another image the the background green is perfect for silhouettes. The only drawback is that it is a bit reflective of my studio lights in places creating some hot spots, but nothing we can't work around.

I was taking bird shots recently, and was talking to a fellow birder/photographer. We dicussed how early morning sunlight often back-lights birds so that you only get silhouettes and loose color details. He mentioned the Better Beamer. The premise is that a magnifier extends the reach of your flash for birding shots, eliminating shadows when photographing birds at distances where they are in dark shadows. It seemed too good to be true, but at $ , I figured I had nothing to lose.It looks like a flimsy affair when it arrives, but it does hold up to moderate abuse when mounted on your flash, which takes no time to do.I could not get over how well this thing works; it beams your flash's light magnificent distances. I'm including a picture of two loons I took from my boat recently; they were at approximately 70 feet, and were back lit by the sun. Normally, they would be two black silhouettes, but here you can see color detail very well. Also, a male hummingbird at my feeder, which would normally be a underexposed now looks like he's wearing sequins. Amazing.A great little gadget; affordable, and it really does work.A word of caution! MAKE SURE YOU PUT THE MAGNIFIER IN ITS POUCH WHEN NOT IN USE! If the magnifier is exposed to sunlight, it could potentially start a fire the same way any magnifying glass can do using sunlight.

Mike is working on phantom power. It sounds great and the flute kit is working good.
