Holds Bar code reader very firmly, in places that are hard to get to.

It fits our FARO laser scanner great and allows us to carry it on the plane instead of checking it.

As Usual with Manfrotto..Well thought out, well designed, well built, well priced and er.. well versatile :-)Out of the box one end is free to spin, which makes you think its faulty or slack quality control at the factory. Once in use, you realize that its allowed to spin so that you can adjust the length using the twist lock system whilst the the bar is fixed/attached to both the uprights/light stands. When using it as a cross bar to fix a D700 and 2x sb900's using 3 super clamps and a tripod ball head in the middle of it. It instilled full confidence to leave it there all day, no worries.. ..and there was no sign of tube compression when I cranked down the super clamps. I Have the Manfrotto Lbag110 for my light stands and the bar is about 120mm too long for the bag, I just close the two zips either side of its protrusion and the bag still sits good on the shoulder...If you peeled back the skin on my right forearm, underneath you would see the name 'NIKON' If you peeled back the skin on my left forearm you would see the name 'MANFROTTO'.. :-DBuy with confidence....Oh yeah, just remembered. Out of the box there seems to be an oily residue on it, so a once over with a cloth is a good Idea, especially if your then going to be handling a white back drop..

The two color system is a pleasure to work with and the bar code function makes it so much easier for inventory control

Great stand for desktop use. Only one drawback is that bar code label took some work to remove.

Purchased this to use for positioning bar code readers, sensors etc to allow us to design permanent mounting fixtures for the devices on nachinery.

Out of the box after intial charge with a Quantum Trio on assignment in a dark bar. 450 shots in 2 hours with Trio on automatic (double diffusers on the Trio) ... 3 of 4 lights still lit on power gauge. Amazing stamina. If this is like other batteries, performance will get better after conditioning and break-in.

I own books passed down in my family for several centuries. I wanted a solution that would let me scan a book without ruining its spine. The Plustek OpticBook 3800L Scanner is precisely what I was looking for. The scanner practically functions to the very edge of the glass (save for a few millimeters). This allows me to place an entire page of the book on the glass while holding the other half of the book, saving the book from any serious pressure or wear. Did I mention how comfortable and easy it was to use this device? If my over-70-year-old father can use this scanner, I assure you that you can, too. Scan a page, press a single button. Flip the book to the next page and repeat. The scanner works faster than conventional flatbed scanners I've used previously. The quality of the scans are also great, whether black and white, grayscale, or color. A friendly reminder: If you will store the scanner when not in use, please remember to flip the switch underneath the device. This switch locks the scanning mechanism so as to prevent damage. Oh, and keep the original box. It's great for storing the scanner! If you have any precious texts that you would like to archive safely yet your budget does not permit more fancy solutions, then this is exactly what you need. Give it a try!

I have been using the A300 Plus scanner a few days now and can say it does what it was made for. It has been working great at scanning large format books (old bound newspapers). The automated scanning available in the software is great. The default is every 15 seconds which seems to be just about enough time to rotate and turn pages. So far I am very pleased with it and have had no problems with it preforming as expected.
