I recently went to Barcelona with my Nikon D3 and several lenses including the 12-24 f/2.8. I used the lens to shoot street scenes on the Ramblas at night with the D3 on ISO 6400. The results were sensational. I didn't have have trouble with it other than the attention it attracts from people who I am shooting. It makes it difficult to shoot them with out them noticing. 5 |

I purchased this product for an upcoming trip to Barcelona, a city of very interesting architecture, to help in my documenting some of the beauty there. I have been familiarizing myself with this lens on my Fuji X Pro 1 by making (mostly landscape) images, utilizing something of interest in the foreground as well as the background. Of note is that with this particular camera the lens is not autofocus and I have come to realize that by putting the focus just under the leg of the ell of infinity, anything from about 3-1/2 feet to infinity will be focussed at f11 or smaller. Focus ring is smooth and aperture clicks are not soft, just right for my use. My one complaint is the wide silver band near the mount of the lens. I would have preferred it to be less wide and/or black to help in not attracting attention. This is a sharp lens and wide enough for my intentions at a great price. 5 |
