Barebones Desktop Computers W Motherboard

Outstanding motherboard, I have 11 computers up and running, all Asus product.

For someone who does not regularly build or upgrade computers, this motherboard was very easy to install. I managed to install it and was up and running without any problems the first go around.

Now a days with computers becoming more and more thinner, components are soldered onto the motherboard. So when things break it could mean swapping out an entire motherboard which could be expensive. Applecare is a great safety net.

I recently upgraded one of the shop computers and in addition to a new updated motherboard I chose the Intel i7-11700K processor. It was easy to install and worked perfectly out of the box. I am using a 360 AIO water cooler so the processor temperatures are within a respectable range. It operates most of our CAD programs at the optimum range and is comparable to the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X with the programs we use, though this processor was less expensive than the Ryzen processor.

My 5th purchase of a Gigabyte Motherboard for my computers. They always have top performance, reliability and value.

This SSD is fast and easy to install to either a laptop or a compatible desktop motherboard. I have it installed in my Dell Precision 7550 laptop, to replace the older 1TB SSD that was there. Just clone your existing (OS) SSD to this new WD_BLACK SN850X, then update BIOS settings accordingly and you are good to go.

How can I establish a wired connection with my desktop to use Microphone as well as speakers both? I am using ASUS X99 Deluxe motherboard and it has several connection options and that's confusing me a little bit. I read in some answers below it's recommended to use 3.5mm jack with 3 rings(aka TRSS or 4 pole cable). Does the cable on the PC end need to have a splitter, so that it can go in the line-in and mic-in ports of the motherboard(ASUS X99 deluxe)? If possible please provide a full description or the name of the cable. Thanks!

A hard drive died in my aging desktop, and I figured I'd replace it with a modern NVMe SSD. Of course my old motherboard doesn't have M.2 slots, so I decided to try this adapter. My motherboard is from an era before NVMe's existed (Ivy Bridge CPU), so there was some concern for compatibility. Luckily, everything worked seamlessly! The heatsink is a bit gimmicky; considering the included thermal pad and that my SSD had some cover on top of its chips, I'm dubious about the actual heat transfer. Regardless, things seem to be running cool and smooth!
