Baritone Guitar High Action

I use the set up for voice over work in film. I am a baritone/bass non singer and usually don't the the high end on things. That said, the richness and texture of the sound that I am getting from this even after on ly playing for a week is sublime. I can't wait until I really get the hang of this rig and can have some fun.

I was looking for a cheap guitar with laminate construction that I could take on trips, camping, etc. This guitar received many favorable reviews on many sites and for the price there was no reason not to give it a try. The guitar was delivered in good condition with reasonable action, strings in good condition and tuners, while not high quality, keep the strings reasonably in tune. I did adjust the action and changed strings, which improved playability and sound. The finish is on the low end but I'm fine with it. The sound is pleasantly good. It is not tonally full or as resonant as guitars at a higher price point, but isn't that expected? I'm quite surprised by how good this guitar is and its $79.99 delivered. It will be a great travel / camping guitar. I order another one just because it's cheap, plays well and sounds fine for my intended use of this guitar.

Have only used it on a high gain guitar cab so far, but my first impression is that it does a great job capturing the amp tone, but sounds smoother than a 57 without sounding dull. I have it paired with a Royer 101 and after about 2 minutes of mic placement, it sounds killer. Overall, just seems to do what a 57 does, but with less harshness. Sometimes you may want that harshness though so, of course, you should have both. :)

I have a 1RU guitar effects unit (TC Electronic G System) and a few effects pedals. The case has hadware and mounting rails that can handle upto 2U of 19 rackable equipement plus space for store cables. The G System, effects pedals and all cabling all fit nicely and securely into the case forming a neat package that can be transported easily. Tear and setup is a breeze because everything is precabled in the Gator case, Just need to pull out preconnected cable snake and run to the amp and run a single eth cable to the G System. Works great and the case is of high qaulity. It does have ridgid walls which provides a high level of protection for the equipment but I would not stack anything heavy on top.

I've been recording all kinds of concerts for the last few decades, and one super-reliable one-size-will-fit-almost-all approach for orchestras is two small diaphragm condensers, up over the conductor's head, splayed out sideways. (The ORTF style specifies an angle of 110 degrees, the NOS configuration is 90 degrees. Both have their unique strengths.) These Lewitt LCT 140's are spectacular in this application: over the weekend I recorded a tracker organ (which means mechanically operated- other than the electric blower fan, this is the kind of organ Bach knew and loved) concert in an 1800's church, and the results were amazing. The different registers and voices came through distinctly, and the rumbling of the pedals was earthquake-like. The weekend before that, it was a cello-guitar duo, and the mikes were placed on knee-high stands in front of each player. Again, the capture was thrilling, larger than life- the guitar crisp and punchy, the cello sweetly singing. This was all with the "flat" setting, as opposed to the "high end sparkle accentuation" setting, which seems like a wonderfully slick way to heighten the clarity of some instrument meant to have the central focus. The onboard pad and low cut options are also fabulous to have, when you need to contend with the rigors of the real world, which can get noisy and can be unpredictable at times. For many years I was using Oktava MK-012's for these kinds of duties, and later Avant CK-1's, fantastic mikes indeed, but from now on it'll be the Lewitts. Since these are so lightweight, you'll want special shockmounts (I got the Rycotte Inv-6 softies). And if you still need convincing: check out ANY of the multiple Youtube videos where people put these to the test- music, voice, sound effects, whatever. There is just something about the accuracy, the precision, the truthfulness of these things... you will be a believer, I guarantee.

This is the fourth one of these that I have purchased in the last 4 or 5 years. What a great value!!!I have read so many reviews from those golden eared guys that write in the audio journals but I haven't seen any laboratory tests that prove to me that any one passive DI is truly different. So I believe price is a reasonable measure.A true dual path DI. I use it for acoustic-electric guitar, bass guitar, electronic drums in stereo, a stereo keyboard, DJ mixer, CD player, computer feed to pro mixer. It can even serve as a splitter (run the high imp thru into the high imp input on the other side, bingo, two balanced outs.

this is the best bang for buck headphone amp. i use it to monitor and record guitar music with a lot of distortion, and effects as well as clean passages . i can hear a lot of the high order harmonics dissapear when i use a cheaper lower qaulity unit that was only a few dollars less. with the rolls ha43 all those highlights and overtones are there again just exactly as direct. i also have a foam head with high end microphones implanted and i record the headphone sound and mix that in .this also allows me to increase my output volume on my guitar proccessor to direct record through d.i. boxes with 4x12 speaker emulation to get a cleaner input to the recorder and increases the power tube amp effect without blowing another set of expensive headphones . i give silent mini concerts with these in places i cant use my wall of amps. they get a real feel for the music rather than through portable device that cant compare.great way to turn on people/ really connect to your music.

Excellent product. Captures guitar and instrumentals with fantastic clarity. Great even on the high accoustics. More than enough for YouTube videos and any commentary.
