Bay Creek School Supply Drive

I used this internal hard drive with 3 others for my Four Bay Hard Drive enclosure. Easy to install, didn't give me any hard time. It's fast enough.

Added an SSD as my main drive and put my old Hard Drive in the Optical Bay. Don't use the CD Drive that much. Install was a piece of cake. Now I have more space for files/documents.

So far great performance from this drive. Love having it out of a case, I use it in a OWC Drive Bay when at home on the desk via Thunderbolt. If traveling, I drop it in an easy access USB 3 2.5 Drive Case. Works like a charm and so far no issues

The radios are easy to use & work great on the creek.

I am a senior in High School and am looking to study Graphic Design. Working on my portfolio at school and at home can be very difficult when I don't always have the right files with me. Saving all of my artwork onto this hard drive to carry back and forth has made my life a lot easier, considering the hard drive is portable. I use this hard drive on both Mac (school) and Windows (home) computers and it has not given me any problems so far. I look forward to getting even more use out of it!

I had old 8-bay ARC-8050 (a Thunderbolt [v1]) unit from Areca. While it kept the data that I needed, during the Mac OSX BigSur shutdown it usually timed out when I wrote something to it. I wanted to change to a higher capacity and a new Thunderbolt 3 device. I got it shipped quickly directly from a third party. I checked the order of drives in the old 8-bay ARC-8050 (top one is drive #1, bottom one is drive #8); checked the order of drives in the new 12-bay Areca unit (top left is #1, top right is #6, bottom right is #12); placed drive #1 from the old unit into drive #1 in the new one, .. etc. Connected the new unit to my Mac, booted Mac and... my drive appeared... Very and painless transfer... The new unit is very fast: write is about 1600 MB/s, read about 700 MB/s (that's 8 10TB drives configured as RAID 6 [60TB disk] with about only 4TB free on disk). I'll add more drives when I have the money :-)

Primarily got if for protection and water shots of a lake and creek.

I really like this device, One button fast drive duplication. Drives insert in each bay easily. Nice progress LED lights show you the status of the duplication.

I don't have a 2-Bay G-RAID drive, but I do have (2) SanDisk Professional 22TB G-DRIVE's. And both of them fit perfectly! I did put a small piece of bubble wrap between the (2) drive to prevent scratches. Both power supplies and both USB-C cables also fit perfectly. Very study professional waterproof case. Can't think of how it could be better. Very happy with it!

This does not have any hardware RAID controller or software, so, if you want to create a RAID array you will need software to do it. I use SoftRAID. I am very pleased with this 5-bay SATA drive enclosure. It has five drive bays. It is inexpensive compared to all other five bay enclosures. I bought a second unit, and will probably buy a third. I had one question about drives, and Oyen Digital's tech support gave me the correct answer within a few hours. Excellent product and support.
