Beats a hard BD for traveling and location shooting. I have both white and silver. The difference in light quality is enough to merit owning both. The silver produces a more focused and contrasty light. Some complain that a collapsible BD can't produce a perfectly round catch light in the eyes like a traditional hard BD.
