I use the HX-3 as a way to drive multiple headphones from a single source. This is very useful in recording sessions where the engineer(s), producer, and talent all need their own headphones. Each HX-3 has three headphone outputs each with their own volume control. They are very compact and can be powered with batteries or an outboard power supply. 5 |

I've been a producer/engineer for many years and have used my fair share of headphones expensive and otherwise. These are quite a pleasant surprise! Full tight sound, not over-hyped in the low end, actually rather flat in response but full in sound. Smooth highs and clean, present mids. Excellent soundstage and very comfortable, very good for mixing. Build quality is good, some plastic parts - especially in the hinges - might not last long but the jury's out on that one. They perform like phones costing much more. B&H as always the best service and delivery. Highly recommended! 5 |

During a week long shoot my producer had headphones on listening to the talent and himself doing some Q&A, he was so impressed with the warm rich sound and the audio quality of this mic that he is ordering one for himself. That says it all. I upgraded from the NTG2 and really like this mic even more. Not powered but most audio techs are going to prefer their pre amps anyway. 5 |
