The benefits outweigh the negatives. It must be calibrated every time with what ever lens you are using. This is simple enough to do, and unless you do it there is no guarantee you will be aiming your lens in the right direction. Also: if you where a brimmed hat, it is likely it'll get bumped by the brim when you use your view-finder. I was able to overcome this by mounting the dot-sight on a SmallRig Half Camera Cage with a Tilta Cold Shoe Receiver Adapter with Locking Pin in the cage's forward mounting position.

As others before since 1996, it works well and the benefits gets better and better. And so does the machine.
