Great sound, decent soundstage for a closed back. Almost neutral, slightly bright. Can't beat it for the cost.

It's the quality of what was once the more than $700 Dollar Ronin-S for half the price. Humorously it comes in one of those closed cell foam containers just like the first Ronin-S did. All jokes aside, it's a truly fantastic light!

Originally I used various $200 IEMs and earbuds, but absolutely love the Portapros! Great soundstage and imaging, very nice bass(but not overpowering!), durable, and stays on your ear when jogging! Super excellent value; easily beats some more expensive headphones. Only con maybe the looks. I like it, many friends like it, but I've read many people do not. If you have a little bit longer hair, it's really hard to notice anyways.

What first drew me to these headphones is that they create a soundstage where you can recognize individual instruments in the mix as they are panned from left, center, right, and all points in between. Most headphones can't achieve this, but these babies do it easily. I use them for both work, as a sound recordist for motion pictures, and personal listening as well. I know what I'm recording when I wear these. I can't say the same for the typical Sony headphones.

I recently received a used headphone amp (Little Dot I+) as a gift. This gift prompted me to give traditional over-ear headphones another try after a 35 year hiatus. I had given up on this type of headphone because the clamping pressure was always too much for my XXL sized head. I did some research and found that the Fidelio X2HR’s supposedly fit big headed folk, were well respected, and used an open-back design that produced an impressive soundstage. I decided to give them a try and I’m really glad I did. The clarity, detail and soundstage of these headphones is amazing and thankfully they are very comfortable. I also really appreciate the excellent build quality and standard (non-proprietary) single sided and replaceable cord. I definitely recommend the Fidelio X2HR’s. For those who are new to headphones like me, remember that an open-back design is best used in a quiet corner of your home since external sound is not blocked and anyone nearby can hear your music. I’ve experienced impressive soundstage using quality speakers but quality headphones are a whole new ballgame.

Accurate headphones with a neutral sound, decent soundstage and impressive detail. They’re also comfortable.

I ordered these at the same time as the crossfade lp2 headphones. The headphones were fine as they were but after changing the cushions the soundstage improved and the headphones truly became over the ear headphones.
