Best Bluetooth Headphones For Mixing And Mastering 2018

I'm a mixing and recording engineer, and record producer.I've used these headphones for mixing and listening. I also know of mastering engineers that use them for mastering.What's great about them:- Comfortable to wear for extended periods of time Their open back design along with the design of the cushion prevents the ears from getting sweaty or overheated and doesn't press on your head too much. - Doesn't sound as boxy as the average headphones, again because of the open back.- In my comparisons was only beaten (sound wise) by the Sennheisers 800, or the AKG K812, both between X2 to X4 the price.- Because they're about $ I'm not afraid to use them or take them with me. It's not small money but I can confidently use them as I please knowing I'd be able to afford a replacement should something happen.What's not as good about them:- Open back comes with it's own drawbacks - can't use these in the live room as much if at all, they're noisy to the environment (if you're next to someone sleeping or in public) and the environment is nosy back at you (though this can be useful if you need natural sound to come through headphones).- They're not small, for carrying around. But I'd take sound over this comfort any day.These are the best I've heard in this price range, and I've tested a lot of companies thoroughly.

I had been using my Sony MDR7505 headphones since I had bought them in 1999. They were my go to gig pair, mixing and mastering set and daily listening. In truth they still work well and I still use them for various things. They are a quality, reliable and great sounding headphone. That being said, THE ATH-50x BLOW THEM AWAY. The 50x headphones are the most clear sounding, thump bumping, crisp monitor headphones I have ever listened to in my 23 year musical career. Please also be aware that I am not saying this as some false euphemism or grand metaphor, I have had the opportunity to use everything from top of the line Sennheiser to bottom feeder gaming console headsets you get for 5.99 on Black Friday. The ATH-50x hold thier own to the best. They are slightly less bassy than a specialized pair, they are wired and they are a bit tight (being new) yet the sound quality of these for being around 175$ is matched by none I have heard. The sound quality of these headphones is amazing. Crisp, vibrant and easy to distinguish. With them being WIRED I really like the cable system. Detachable from the bottom of the left earpiece and using a solid plug they work well with swapping from 1/4in to 1/8in. Good build quality. 10/10 For Value WITH Quality. I will be most likely buying a second pair for day to day usage and I would HIGHLY recommend these to any person whom asked me. If you are looking for a pair of mastering/monitor/mixing headphones and you dont mind the wires, these are the pair. Paying less than 200$ for these should be criminal.

I use them for mixing and mastering in the studio. I truly can hear the difference and feel the difference in these headphones. This is my first pair of headphones above the $100 price range, and it is obvious why they are superior headphones. These headphones truthfully and accurately allow you to hear what is in the mix, which allows you to make critical mixing decisions. I would still use a reference track when mixing in these headphones. Also don't expect to get as much volume without a good headphone preamp. When I listen to these on my iPhone they don't get ear piercing loud, but it is a little quieter than the earbuds that come with the iPhone. I should also mention that they are very comfortable. I wear glasses and they aren't uncomfortable while I'm wearing them, even for hours at a time. I let my wife listen to them and she could clearly hear the difference in these and the headphones I own that cost $100. I hope this review helps someone who is debating on buying these headphones. If you edit, mix or master music, you can't go wrong with these.

These headphones are solid. Tuned flat for mixing and mastering. They maintain amazing clarity across a huge frequency range. I love mine.

This mic is insanely clear make mixing & mastering so much better

I have had these headphones for almost 10 years. In these 10 years, they have been THE BEST headphones I have used for mixing. I have used a bunch of headphones and studio monitors in that time, and nothing has beat them out, not even the infamous Sony 7506 (given, cheaper, but more prevalent headphones in studios) Things to note with these headphones; they are not super low end present. If you are getting these to listen to consumer music, you may not like them because they are not "boomy" or "full". These headphones are for users who are looking for definition and clarity for making a solid mix. The other note is a MINOR complaint; the part of the headset that rests on the top of your head/hair has worn out for me. The muffs also wore out, but I replaced them. If there is a way to replace the foam under the band, please let me know because I would love to have them looking brand new again. I broke the cable that came with the headphones by accidentally vacuuming it about 2 years in (stupid, I know), but the detachable cable saved me some money. Also nice if you want to swap out different size cables. I would highly recommend these to anyone looking to invest in headphones for studio mixing.

I use this model for monitoring and mixing in my studio. These headphones are the best I have ever used and goes right along in the same category as the SM57 microphones. Best sound and amazing price for the performance!
