I use it for recording on a budget, and it works as a mic and guitar preamp. I would imagine that any other instrument you can plug into it would sound great as well. It has the distinctive sound that you'd expect from a valve. And with a guitar plugged up to it, any but the most picky audiophiles would be hard pressed to tell it apart from a tube amp. It also functions as a splitter as it sends signals through both the XLR and TS (1/4) outputs at the same time. It was so well worth the $ dollars that I ordered a second one within minutes of receiving the first. 5 |

This is just the budget mic I was looking for to pair with a sm57 when mic'ing my guitar amp. The bass response really fattens up the recorded tone when paired with the mid forward sm57. Add an AT2020 for as a room mic for top end and ambience and you can record some pretty solid guitar tracks. 5 |

I own a nice Takamine but was looking for a budget guitar to leave at a vacation house. I saw the great reviews and decided to give it a try. I’m not disappointed. Great budget guitar. Seems like a steal at $119. 5 |

First, good quality cables for your guitar and pedal connections really makes a difference. The tone is better, and the performance is more reliable than cheapo cables. Cheapo cables will quickly make intermittent connection and become noisy. These Hosa Pro guitar cables sound great, are quiet enough for recording, they have terrific copper conductors, and the Rean connectors are very lightweight but sturdy. I have owned many more expensive cables, but these Rean Pros really last, and they are a superb line of budget-friendly cables. They are really reliable! Personally, I use more premium cables for longer length runs, but save money by using the Rean Pros for runs 10 feet or shorter. If you are not super picky, or are on a really tight budget, these would be fine even for longer cable runs too. Do yourself a tonal favor, don't skimp on cables. These are not much more costly than the nasty ones, and your music will shine through, consistently. 5 |
