I wanted to dive into the world of podcasting, did a lot of research, and this was what experts were saying was the best on a budget. They didn't start me wrong, this microphone is great! So much so I convinced someone else to get one as well. If you also want to get into podcasting, I think this is a fantastic Mike, whether you have more money to spend or not.

Great mic for podcasting on a budget. It's a bit sensitive, even for a condenser-style mic, but if you keep the gain down and intelligently select the recording pattern, it should not be a problem. I've only used it in quiet rooms, and never outdoors or in an environment with ambient sound. I would imagine it may not do so well in such an environment because of the sensitivity. I opt for shot-gun style mics in those environments. For controlled condition recordings, I don't think you'll do much better in terms of a USB mic and I highly recommend it.
