I am using this to run Ubuntu 12.10 and I wanted high capacity as well as speed, so far this is the right choice, I had no problem to re-format this in linux so compatibility it is not an issue. Seems like is a little bit hot when you are using extensively for example when you are moving large files but it's not an issue. There is no place to plug the cap so you need to be very carefully to not loose it. 5 |

My old laptop had gotten very slow, taking forever to boot into Ubuntu 19.04. I figured it would get worse with 20.04, so I sprung for a replacement to the original 160GB spinning drive. This did the trick - the old Lenovo now seems almost zippy. 5 |
