Best Budget Medium Large Drawing Tablet

I had a small Wacom Intuos tablet years ago. This tablet is so much better! After reading many reviews including one that showed recommended tablet size based on monitor size/resolution, I bought the medium instead of the small, and the Pro version instead of the cheaper one for the extra sensitivity levels. (I have a 27 Imac). The medium tablet is a perfect size for drawing directly into Photoshop, without being too large for my desk. The pen is so smooth, it just glides which makes accurate drawing and corrections easy. The programmable express keys are a real time saver. I was getting carpal tunnel symptoms from drawing too many hours with paper and pencil. Since I switched to the tablet, I have no pain or numbness in my hand or elbow- an unexpected benefit. It was frustrating for the first five minutes, until I got the scrolling, etc set up to my preferences; now I wouldn't be without it. For photo retouching I would have been satisfied with the cheaper tablet, but for drawing this is absolutely worth the extra cost. Highly recommended!

If you're not using a tablet for Photoshop/retouching you're just doing it wrong. I bought the large tablet and I'm completely happy with it, but probably could have gotten away with a medium tablet.

Yes, WACOM tends to be pricier, but I've found that their products hold up well and the pen sensitivity is unparalleled. What more can you ask for? This version of Intuos Pro is better engineered than ever. Very stable, ergonomic, even the packaging is reusable for traveling with the tablet. I notice the cabling is improved, the base thinner yet of higher quality materials, and the same for the pen and nib holder. Add to that it worked in 20 secs when I attached it (yes, I had the WACOM driver in place from an earlier tablet) but it was a cinch. Don't wait, just get one and get drawing. I would recommend buying the Pro if you are a professional, it will give you way more life and is a better build. If it helps you decide on Medium vs Large vs Small, I can say the small is WAAAY too small, the Medium is very portable, fits in a laptop bag or lap and great ratio for most any project, though I'd recommend the large if you tend to work on artwork where full expressive brushstrokes/fluid arm movement is important. Otherwise, I've had the Large and prefer this Medium all around, and use a Cintiq 24 Pro in my dedicated workspace as an illustrator and motion designer. Have to review that yet, but purchased both from B&H who are a dedicated, reasonable and responsive company.

This is the perfect size tablet for photo editing. I had the medium Intuos3 and found it to be a little too large for photo editing work. The adjustable Express Keys and Radial menu allow you to really speed up your workflow once you have them customized for your most used programs (Lightroom and Photoshop for me). The touch feature is the final detail that makes this such a great product, and one that almost makes the mouse completely obsolete, even if you are not doing image editing work.

I have been using my tablet with photoshop. It gives you great control. They also let you view videos on how to use thr tablet to try and get the most from it. I got the large I think the medium would have been a good choice. You have to use the entier pad and the large is larger then you think. I saw a review of some one who said the same thing and should have purchased the med. size. I am happy with the one I have it works great. Make sure you buy one that is pressure sensitive if usuing a paint program. Learn how to use it. Be Awsome!! Tjart

I have the medium size Wacom tablet and its really too large for my workspace. Ordered the small tablet and it's perfect for my Photoshop editing. The pen work very well for PS light painting. It's always easy to order through B@H and I always use their credit card since it pays my sales tax. Order arrived timely without any hassles.
