On my mac mini 2018 with a 4k monitor, I swapped an HDMI to HDMI cable with this thunderbolt to displayport cable. Huge difference! Before, the entire display was sluggish and unresponsive. Now, the picture is sharp, and the UI is smooth and responsive. 5 |

MAKE NOTE: You'll need to buy a ThunderBolt 3 cable separately!! Replaced an older Mini Recorder that mysteriously died (I suspect a 3rd party mac charger on friend's computer to blame). Greatly appreciate the expanded formats. These are invaluable for streaming capture or ingest to media performance software such as Resolume Arena. Truly can't go wrong for the price as you can buy another as a backup vs other more expensive options. 5 |

Disclaimer: In order for this to work you MUST have the Apple certified thunderbolt 3 cable. Do not attempt to buy a knock off or use a USB-C hard drive cable. It will not power the device. You need the $40 Apple cable. Other than, that this thing works perfectly. It’s predecessor would always give me connection issues and I would have to unplug and replug it. This one new plug it in and go. I love it. Wish they would’ve released it a while back but I’m enjoying it now 5 |
