Best Camera For Underwater Macro Shoots 2019

Bought this camera after I saw my friend's pics of Patagonia taken from this camera. He shoots underwater photography and this is his pocket camera. I had a Sony RX100 II. I like to take close up photos of flowers, and my grandbaby. The image stabilization is the best I have encountered. The colors are true to life. And the light handling is sophisticated. All of this performance on auto mode. I'm stunned and in love with this camera...looking for every opportunity to use it.

This accessory was very helpful for macro photography. Not usable underwater, though.

This is a great addition for my TG-5 Camera. It allows for more light to give my macro shots greater background detail. This Macro Ring should not be confused with the FD-1 Flash Diffuser. They function very differently. This Ring uses the built in LED of the camera to add additional lumination to your image. The FD-1 uses the built in Flash for additional illumination. The difference bewtween them is the Macro Ring allows for more detail in the surrounding area of your primary image while the FD-2 illuminates the entire area gving less background details. If you like to experiment with Macro Photography with your TG-4 or TG-5 I suggest you get both. A last point, the LG-1 Macro Ring is not meant for underwater photography but the FD-2 is. Here is a direct statement from Olympus: "Please Note: Although the LG-1 can be left on the camera when underwater, it is not recommended as an underwater lighting accessory as the results would not be desirable. The FD-1 may also be used underwater"

Used these on dozens of shoots. Bought my first pair in November of 2018, another in February of 2019, and they're all still going strong. Even better, the price on these has dropped almost in half since I bought my first pair, though my Sandisk 512gb CFast 2.0 card is the same price it was in February 2019.
