Starting to do video recording with my DSLR's and hated the sound quality of the in camera mics..Looked for an inexpensive replacement and saw a lot of good recommendations for this mic. Works SO much better than the camera's mic..Don't expect Dolby surround abilities but a definite improvement 5 |

I use this on an audiotechinca 897 shotgun, mostly for dslr video recording. It really does the job well. It loses some fur, but it is minimal. One reviewer said that that sliding this windscreen on his shotgun mic is difficult and that it made him fear his mic would get damaged. I did not find that to be true. The windscreen fits nice and tight and it slides onto my mic smoothly. 5 |

I own a recording studio and recently got into DSLR video. I was using my 7506's and hatted dealing with the coiled cable. It got caught in everything. So i took a chance with this brand because I read good things, and I am totaly happy. I picked up the sheepskin earpads as well, and they are way more comfotable than my 7506's nd I think they sound pretty much the same, maybe a tad better. Also the little wire on the side does not get caught. Well worth it! 5 |

Use this on my Nikon DSLR when recording video. It fits great on the hot shoe and is the perfect size. The sound quality is also excellent. I haven't used it outside yet but I can't wait to use the fur parka wind screen cover. If it works half as good as it does silly it will be amazing! 5 |

I am new to dSLR video recording and therefore also new to audio recording. A friend told me to get an external audio recorder and a mic. Audio is at least 50% of a video recording. Audio is often the part people don't pay enough attention to and make the video below par. So I told the advise and got a Zoom H4n and the Rode NTG-2. The combination works well. Since the NTG-2 is self powered, with the right cable I can also hook it up directly to the dSLR. 5 |
