Best upgrade for my Mac Pro systems boot drive.

Does exactly what I needed to do in allowing me to use 2 monitors with new my M1 Mac. Was very frustrated when I got the new computer and couldn’t use 2 monitors, but this is a quick fix.

I bought two of these cables to add two additional monitors to a Mac Mini M2 Pro. They work great when plugged into the USB-C/TB4 ports. The main monitor is still fed from the built-in HDMI port. The Mac Mini M2 will support one external monitor and the M2 Pro version will support two external monitors. The only problem I have, from time to time, is that I have to reset the display arrangement after reboot or sleep. I don't think this has anything to do with the cable, but seems to be a feature of Mac display management or the order in which the connected monitors sleep and wake up. I've also used the same cable to connect an external monitor to an iPad Pro, for which it also works perfectly.

The new Mac mini is much improved over the older versions. My first Mac was a mini back in 2007. Since then I owned a MacBook Air 2011(which I still own) an iMac 27 in 2014 and a 2016 MacBook Pro 16. I work at home more now like everyone else and since my wife needed a new laptop we decided to purchase the Mini and pass the MacBook Pro to her. The mini has the same configuration as the more expensive MacBook Pro, i7 intel chip, 16gb RAM and a 256gm SSD drive, so this was a lateral move. The mini is super fast and connected to two 21 4k LG monitors it delivers a great experience. I was concerned about heat, since the MacBook Pro would get pretty hot while connected to the 2 monitors but the mini handles them just fine. It's compact and freed up more real estate on my desk. No regrets switching to the Mini and from what I read the next generation of Mini's will be even more powerful and still at a decent price point. So if you work from home and need a new powerful computer without breaking the bank, Mini is the way to go.

I travel and I have my home office. when I'm home i use my monitors and need my Mac accessible yet out of my way. This holds my Macbook pro and my Wife's Macbook air without any scratching or wobbling. This is stout and sturdy.

Finally my Mac Pro 2013 can be used with 4k monitors with smooth refresh rate. I tried many adapters and cables, and this is the only one that worked.

Best way for having a SSD running on your Mac Pro. Just few steps and everything is working fine.

Best experience with a Mac laptop since my original computer, a Mac Powerbook back in the late 1990s. Smoother, faster and a step above my current Mac Mini (16gb ram, 3+GHz, etc.). Does everything in Photoshop quickly and quietly, love the M1 chip and the Touch Bar, which I had avoided and didn't think I'd like but do. Very portable. Very cool. Very happy with my purchase. Those who bemoan the lack of connection ports should be assuaged by the many 3rd party plug-in USB C hubs on the market. They provide USB ports of every description as well as an SD card reader and an HDMI port for your monitor. These things look good and don't detract from the appearance of the computer, many of them look like they were designed to blend in with the computer, because they were.
