As the headline states these wonderful condenser microphones are used for recording Brass including all high brass, brass trio and quintets and other configurations. Am using in conjunction with the Tascam 24SD multitrack recorder, a Focusrite Octopre MKII preamp, and JBL 308 studio monitors. The condenser mic offers 3 settings for Omni, Cardiod, and figure 8 settings. These microphones are clear, and detailed and are perfect for brass. Having read the pros and cons of condenser mics vs ribbon, and am glad I went with these for the variety of recording that I am doing. Ribbons are expensive, delicate, and very accurate and warm for brass recording. Condensers are clear, flat, and highly detailed and sound great to me. A big plus is RODE offers a 10 year warranty when you register them online; provided you buy from an authorized dealer. B&H is the BEST and, of course, an authorized dealer. Love these microphones.
