Best Corporate Poe Wireless Router

I'm pretty happy with this AP. Its just an AP, not a wireless router so it doesn't have any NAT or firewall features, which is fine by me, I have a Pfsense firewall that does all that for me. Its PoE, though the PoE is somewhat non-standard in that only works with the injector that comes with the unit.I have the unit mounted on the ceiling in my central hallway and its completely inconspicuous, especially given that you can shut the blue LED status ring off so that it looks just like a smoke detector. I bought 2, one for upstairs and one for the basement. They are configured identically with the unifi software. Setting them up took about 20m. I did a bit of speed testing and am seeing 760mbps or so straight out of the box in the place that I usually work, so for the $ or $ these units cost I'm pretty happy.

I needed to get a PoE switch, so ever since I had a pleasant experience with ER-X router, I decided to get an ER-X-SFP router and configured it as a switch. So I got to myself a 5 port PoE switch (6 port with SFP port). This device is universal, thanks to Edgemax OS, it can implement hi-end router functions, besides, it can be a PoE data switch. in general, since I discovered Ubiquiti Networks line of products I lost interest to any other products.

I have a standard Verizon router/WAP that could not provide a solid signal to more than half my house.� Bought this because I have seen them used at my church.� I connected it to a switch off my router, passing through the included PoE injector (power supply), to a central point in my house (56' long).� Because it uses PoE, it is easy to install almost anywhere...where ever one can run a CAT5 or CAT 6 cable.� I had thought about installing a120VAC outlet in a closet to move my Verizon router/WAP closer to the center of the house, but this was a lot easier. Installed and ran the control software.� I have some familiarity with such things, and found it to be straight forward to set up.� Took maybe 10 minutes.� Left my Verizon WAP running and have had no interference issues.� More than adequate signal throughout the house.� Now I'm a hero :-)
