Best Desktop Pc Solid State Hard Drives

I was replacing my eleven year old HP Envy desktop that died during a series of intermitten power failures. The hard drives were ok but the motherboard was fried. Was able to set up the new desktop easily even though I was unfamiliar with Windows 11. Having so many USB ports on both the front and back of the new PC made connection of peripherals easy. I was able to restore all of my data from the hard drives I pulled from my old desktop as well as an external backup hard drive. I scavenged the DVD/Bluray drive and connected it externally to the new PC since this model has no DVD drive. I have added a UPS battery to my configuration to keep power outages from causing problems. The new PC is faster and slightly smaller than my last unit. It is a pleasure to use.

Compared to old Hard drive which was not solid state, the new drive respond time is noticeable. Did not want to change drives because thought I was wasting money $243. but after changing drives glad I did. Ron I

I am IT guy who replaces mechanical hard drives with solid state hard drives approximately once per week. This is a great brand, with a good product at a great price. If you want to compare SSDs, look for the highest number of Input / Output Per Second (IOPs) to best judge performance. Read/write speed is not a good indicator. I would rate the drive as a B+, which is more great for most uses.

I used this drive to clone a laptop hard drive to a solid state drive. Worked well.

If you are installing an internal Solid State Drive to your desktop computer, you'll need this SATA wire unless you are able to scavenge one off another attached device that you no longer use. It attaches to the back of the SSD (or other SATA device) and to the mother board.

I've use WD External Hard Drive for years, so far its my go to for Desktop Hard Drives.

Recently I had a PC die on me. I pulled the 3.5 Hard Drives and 2.5 SSD's and used the Xcellon USB 3.2 Gen 1 Hard Drive Dock to boot them on my iMac and transfer files. It booted the drives almost instantly and required no software drivers which is nice. Being able to hot-swap drives is a great addition as well. It is perfect for what I need it for. Best computer I've owned, better graphics than my desktop PC. Runs very hot though.
