Best Digital Camera For Zoom And Action Shots

I needed a camera that captured portraits to action shots. I wanted a camera that combined all the features from my 35MM film camera, my digital SLR E-510 and digital video - the EP2-Pen does that and much more. I wish the camera came with a zoom lens or 35MM lens, flash card and a case.

I bought this camera for birding. I mated it to a Sigma 100-400mm zoom lens which nets 150-600mm with the cropped sensor in this camera. The image quality is amazing. The 8fps burst rate is great for bird action shots and the large buffer seems to never fill. The controls are very customizable and the camera body is pretty light weight. I'd recommend this camera to anyone taking wildlife and action shots.

This product is great for outdoor shots during the daytime as well as reasonably well lit indoor shots. I Have found all of my photos to be crystal clear even without the VR. This lens is not a professional lens and has a slightly inexpensive feel to it, but its performance is incredible and with proper use this lens is an indispensable tool in the inventory. It performs well enough to take it out on trips but isn't too expensive to be scared of taking it out of the box. It is worth every penny. I haven't had it too long so I don't know about the long term durability of the lens. The only thing which I'm not in love with is the zoom action; I know that most of the lenses that I use have somewhat stiff zoom rings making it hard to shoot smooth videos and make minute adjustments. I knew coming in that most slr lenses are like that (especially at this price point) and I can't take a star off for that because 1) I expected that before making the purchase 2)Video isn't my main use or an advertised intended use of the lens and 3)the lens is not advertised as having special smooth zoom action. I also can't dock a star because it really doesn't bother me considering I don't make many videos; I just wanted to mention it for the budget video aficionados out there looking for a video lens. (Even with that said, with a firm hand its possible to get some decent smooth zooms, it just takes some good form and steady twist pressure). In conclusion, for this price, I really don't think you're going to find a better lens. It performs better than I anticipated and is already becoming one of my favorites. I bought this lens to use at baseball/softball games to take close action shots. It worked well in all situations. Most of my shots were from the fence line in the outfield. The pictures came out clear and the zoom was close enough for me. The lens is easily interchangeable and zooms/focuses quickly. I'm new to photography and digital slr cameras. This lens works well with my Cannon EOS Rebel T3i. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a zoom lens.

Excellent for action shots and stills.

I moved from a digital all-in-one with a huge zoom to M4/3, so I knew that I would miss my telephoto shots, so this lens was a fantastic add on. It was incredibly inexpensive for pretty darn good reach, and it also focuses reasonably close as well, so that I didn't feel that I had to swap out lenses just to get a chance to capture something nearby. It is also ridiculously light and portable, compared to a equivalent full frame telephoto lens.

Good camera bag buddy for those shots that need a little zoom.

It has a nice sleek feel to it and easily fits in your pocket so you can take it anywhere you go. I really like the zoom feature. It's a button you push and it has 3 different zoom depths. When you press the button it automatically zooms in and you don't have to wait, it's super cool. I love that it takes videos and pictures. It also comes with an SD card so you can download all your videos and pictures onto your computer. I would highly recommend this product to anyone in the market for a video camera/camera.
