Best Dj Studio Monitors 2017

I have had these headphones for almost 10 years. In these 10 years, they have been THE BEST headphones I have used for mixing. I have used a bunch of headphones and studio monitors in that time, and nothing has beat them out, not even the infamous Sony 7506 (given, cheaper, but more prevalent headphones in studios) Things to note with these headphones; they are not super low end present. If you are getting these to listen to consumer music, you may not like them because they are not "boomy" or "full". These headphones are for users who are looking for definition and clarity for making a solid mix. The other note is a MINOR complaint; the part of the headset that rests on the top of your head/hair has worn out for me. The muffs also wore out, but I replaced them. If there is a way to replace the foam under the band, please let me know because I would love to have them looking brand new again. I broke the cable that came with the headphones by accidentally vacuuming it about 2 years in (stupid, I know), but the detachable cable saved me some money. Also nice if you want to swap out different size cables. I would highly recommend these to anyone looking to invest in headphones for studio mixing.

Mobile DJ since 2001. Previous owner of Shure and Sennheiser systems. Have used Audix R61 receivers weekly (mostly at weddings) since early 2017, they are rock solid units! TRUE DIVERSITY (dual tuners) indeed! Have not had a SINGLE signal drop out indoors or outdoors, (64MHz frequency band is awesome) even in the super busy RF environment of Southern California. We typically use 2-3 units at the same time. The range is outstanding also, we are often about 100 ft away (advertises a huge 450 ft range, haven't had to do that..) and with up to 200 guests between receiver and bodypacks, still no issues. Very easy setup, and has great features like locking the transmitter so no accidental 'mutes' occur. R61 has a massive amount of tunable frequencies if you need them. The construction is metal and quite solid. Shure and Sennheiser rule the mobile DJ world of wireless, but after speaking with Audix at NAMM 2017, I went with their system and have not looked back. I have since had two other colleagues see/hear the system, and although they were lifetime Shure users, bought an Audix 60 series system. The few reviews you will find rave about them as well. I think it is the current sleeper system that doesn't get a lot of attention, but performs extremely well. Highly recommend. The only downside is the R61 receivers, and the 60 series in general, are of course more expensive than the '40' series, and not typically in stock...anywhere. It takes a few extra days to get to you but it is worth the wait to ensure perfect events, especially wedding ceremonies, with rock solid signal thanks to the true diversity dual tuners.

Best of used with 5” monitors however just takes a little patience and you can make a 7” monitor fit.

I'm not a DJ but I have 3 DJ speaker stands that I use for my field monitors for my video production. I've been looking for this product for a long tome... Sometimes we all can run out of light stands and utilizing a DJ stand for other needs its always a life saving. And with these Auray Speaker stand adapters allow even more possibilities! Currently, they make 3 kinds of adapters: 1/4, 3/8 and 5/8 threads. I hope they will release one that has a 5/8 Stud for holding Studio lights (LED / Flash) as a 4th option. Therefore, I have all 3 models, and will be reviewing / posting ALL 3 here for each page which is easier for BH readers to find all in one place. The only difference between all 3 items is the thread on top, being different sizes. The body is identical. The body is 100% made of metal and the whole thing just feels solid. No adapters needed if you have a standard tube thickness like most DJ speaker stands do. With these speaker stand adapters, you can mount just about everything that accepts 1/4, 3/8 and 5/8. I included some pictures here. Make sure to check them out. Very happy with this item. [I have received this product in exchange for my honest review].
