I had been using a more compact 10x24 Nikon Prostaff binoculars which were OK optical quality as an also entry-level model series but at 10 years old were not as good as these Diamondbacks. Regardless of brand, I would always recommend 8x42 over 10x for the majority of folks as it's much easier to find your subject, hand jiggle is not nearly as distracting, and the x42 lets much more light in for use at dawn/dusk. Vest case Vortex includes is very nice too. 5 |
