Best External Dvd Drive For Apple Computer

For those of us who need to use more than one external back-up drive, for whom CD/DVD drives are important, who need to use an external mouse, Apple's obsession with making everything thin at the cost of connectivity and other functions presents real problems. This hub answers a number of needs well.

I have used this external DVD burner quite often when a computer I am working on does not have a DVD drive, so far is recognied right off, write speed is OK, works on wins 8,

This drive only works on newer Apple Computers. I had to purchase another DVD/CDW drive to work on my old iMac G-5 to replace the worn out drive built in the computer; I was lucky that B&H had that drive and it works fine.  I had no problems with the Apple USB SuperDrive on my new computer and will keep when I replace the newer computer (7 years old now) as the new iMacs do not have a built in drive.

I recently bought a new laptop, no dvd drive. No problem, just ad this external drive when I need one.

Received my external CD/DVD USB SuperDrive quickly and packaged just fine. Just one usb3 connection and it was alive when disc entered. No messing with third party apps, works great when its Apple to Apple. B&H great to buy from and the price is always on target.

It was very hard to find a CD/DVD external burner for my MacBook 12 laptop. It tried several but all needed extra external power even though I used the Apple adapter. The Apple USB SuperDrive works just great. Problem solved.

I must admit that I was skeptical about having to utilize an external device, as opposed to have my Superdrive within my Mac repaired.Many DVD writers on the market will not work if you have a computer that has an optical drive within, regardless of whether it is functional or not. I made the mistake of thinking that I had to install the disc that comes with the unit.there is NO need to do anything with this disc, you just simply have to put in a DVD, and it will play.I am able to use the controls of my computer to operate the DVD Player.It's as if my internal player never had a problem.An excellent machine that does exactly what you want.
