I just started use Final Cut Pro for editing, LaCie Hard Drive stores all my files so my max is not running slow. I have Recommend LaCie 2TB to my co workers. I take it with me on the go and I don't worry because of its Protective case around it and the Orange color makes it hard to forget any where. it catches the eye when I look for it. A must Have. 5 |

I bought this external drive for scratch work when using Final Cut Pro - it seems to be fast enough to get a couple of 1080P streams simultaneously. It is stylish and seems to be well built. I can't comment on its reliability as I have only had it for a few weeks or so. I partitioned this drive to use 1TB as scratch space and 1TB to basically clone my OS drive in case the main drive fails I can get a new one and clone it back. As far as noise level goes its quieter than most of the drives I've used previously, it doesn't appear to be loud by any means but it's loud enough to know it is running. I was first turned on to the G-Tech series from one of Chase Jarvis's videos about their process of backing up, etc. Bottom line: A great drive so far. 5 |

This is my first 7200rpm drive, and all I can say is that it is FAST! I use it to hold my Final Cut Pro X libraries and I have absolutely no noticeable performance differences than keeping my media on my boot drive. It is noisier (not terribly so, but you will definitely notice it and I wouldn't recommend it if you were planning on doing any audio recording in the same room) than my portable Western Digital Elements drives, and it does need to be plugged into an AC outlet. But even for those two little things, it is well worth the purchase. 5 |

This drive is super fast! I use it mainly to edit videos in Final Cut Pro X via my iMac and it flies! Before this drive I had another G-Drive 4TB drive that connected via USB 3 and it was good too but I have to say this is by far the best external drive I've ever owned. 5 |
